The Super Mario Bros. Movie will be the first time since 1993 that the Nintendo mascot has been in a movie. Nintendo wants to avoid making the same mistakes as the live-action Super Mario Bros. movie from the 1990s, so they’ve hired Illumination, the animation studio best known for the Despicable Me, Minions, Sing, and Secret Life of Pets franchises.
Nintendo has also hired an all-star cast to give Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, and Bowser their voices so that they can come to life on the big screen.
When Will The Super Mario Bros. Movie Come Out?
The Super Mario Bros. Movie was supposed to come out around the holidays in 2022, but Nintendo has now said that it will come out on April 7, 2023. When that date was announced, Nintendo also showed us the first official poster for the movie, which you can see below.
