Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse Release Date
Production on the untitled sequel to Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse began in late 2019, shortly after the studio confirmed the title had been greenlit. Sony announced the release date as April 8, 2022. The production of Across the Spider-Verse was shut down in 2020 and delayed for over a year. There is good news: the movie will be released soon, and a sequel will follow one year later. Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse will be released on June 2, 2023, and the sequel hits theaters on March 29, 2024.

Is Spider-man: Across The Spider-Verse Delayed?
Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse was originally scheduled to be released in April 2022, but complications caused by the COVID-19 pandemic caused a delay in allowing the production team sufficient time to complete the film.
Who’s The Director?
Joaquim Dos Santos (The Legend of Korra, Voltron: Legendary Defender), Kemp Powers (Soul), and Justin K. Thompson are co-directing Across the Spider-Verse (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse). This film is being written by Phil Lord, who co-wrote Into the Spider-Verse, along with his frequent writing partner Christopher Miller and Shang-Chi writer David Callaham.

Shameik Moore will reprise his role as Miles Morales in the upcoming Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse sequel. Joining him is Hailee Steinfeld, who will be returning to voice Gwen Stacy, a Spider-Hero from another dimension. Steinfeld also portrays Kate Bishop in the Marvel Cinematic Universe series Hawkeye. Jake Johnson will also be back, reprising his role as Peter B. Parker, the Spider-Man variant who mentored Miles in the first movie. Additionally, Brian Tyree Henry and Luna Lauren Velez will return as Miles’ parents, Jefferson Davis and Rio Morales, respectively.
Several newcomers have also been announced for Across The Spider-Verse. Oscar Isaac will return as Miguel O’Hara, also known as Spider-Man 2099, who appeared in the post-credit scene of the first movie. Actress Issa Rae will make her debut as Jessica Drew’s Spider-Woman, while Daniel Kaluuya will play Hobie Brown, also known as Spider-Punk. The film will also feature two new villains, with Jorma Taccone playing Vulture and Jason Schwartzman as The Spot. Notably, Nicolas Cage will not be reprising his role as Spider-Man Noir.
Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse Plot
In the upcoming film, Miles Morales will reunite with Spider-Gwen and Peter B. Parker and team up with Spider-Man 2099, Spider-Punk, and Jessica Drew, the original Spider-Woman. The storyline will feature various animation styles as the characters navigate their way through a multi-dimensional adventure. The villain will be the Spot, a character from the comics who has been enhanced with new powers in the movie, including the ability to create portals to other realms of the multiverse. Additionally, early toy reveals indicate that Ben Reilly, the Spider-Clone from the ’90s, and a Cyborg Spider-Woman will also appear in the plot. Fans can expect to see many new Spider-Man variants in Across the Spider-Verse.
