Made In Abyss Season 2: Cast, Plot, & Release Date Confirmed in 2022

Made In Abyss is a Japanese anime series. It is based on the manga series by Akihito Tsukushi. With Takeshobo as manga’s publisher. It is a series online in Takeshobo’s digital publication Web Comic Gamma from 2012. It has been collected into eight tankōbon volumes.  Along with the Kinema Citrus as the adaptor of the mangas into the anime series. It started airing on July 7, 2017. Also, a sequel film is to release in America on 11th April 2020. The  Japanese voiceover artists include Miyu Tomita, Mariya Ise, Shiori Izawa, and more. In addition, its English voiceover artists are Brittany Lauda, Luci Christian, Britteny Karbowski, and more.

Made in Abyss Season 2 is released in Japan on July 17, 2020. It was designed for Premier but postponed for the Covid-19 Pandemic. On the flip side, the announcement of this release announced up to now. Generally, we can expect a U.S release within 2-3 months after releasing the Japanese, but due to Covid-19, the Series’s Made in Abyss Season 2 release got postponed.

Made In Abyss: Plot and Characters

The manga/anime series revolves around Riko, an orphan girl. She finds and becomes friends with a humanized robot Reg. They together descend into the “Abyss”, that goes to the depth of the Earth. She hopes to find her mother. Riko lives in Belchoro Orphanage in Orth town. The abyss is in this town. Furthermore, the abyss holds artifacts and relics of the past. The Cave Raiders love to go down the abyss and bring back these old relics. However, all those who come back face the curse of the abyss, a fatal disease. Riko’s mother Lyza is down in the abyss. Liza is a White Whistle, one who has traveled to the deepest parts of the abyss. Also, Riko wants to follow in her mother’s footsteps and become a White Whistle. She receives a message from her mother to come to the abyss and Riko is determined to find her. The main characters of the series are Riko, Reg, Nanachi, and Mitty along with other characters.

Season 2 details

We don’t know when the series is to return for season 2. But, there is a update by gamesradar that it will release in 2022. However, fans are assuming it will be sometime this year because of the recent release of the movies of the series- Dawn Of the Deep Soul. Its 1st 2 movies were released last year- Journey’s Dawn and Wandering Twilight respectively. The cast for the season will remain the same as the earlier season. They will all be returning to voiceover. However, the creators have not yet offered any further updates on the release date of season 2.
