’13 Reasons Why’ is a Netflix original drama that follows Clay Jensen. He attempts to solve the mystery surrounding his friend Hannah Baker’s suicide by deciphering clues from the 13 recordings she made before taking her own life.
Through Hannah’s experience, the program attempts to expose high school’s bullying culture, which, if left unchecked, may result in sexual assault and violence.
The dark mystery series is based on Jay Asher’s blockbuster adult book, which Brian Yorkey adapted for the screen. It made its debut on March 31, 2017.
When the program premiered, it garnered critical praise for its treatment of delicate but timely topics such as sexual abuse, bullying, suicide, despair, betrayal, PTSD, and other mental health difficulties.
Dylan Minnette and Katherine Langford received critical acclaim for their stunning performances. Katherine was later nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress.
Additionally, the program ran afoul of the law due to its emotionally taxing adult material and a brutal suicide scene that has since been deleted.

Will 13 Reasons Why return for a fifth season?
Season 4 of ’13 Reasons Why’ will release on Netflix in its entirety on June 5, 2020. It is comprised of 10 hour-long episodes rather than the customary thirteen. All episodes are available on Netflix.
In terms of the prospect of a second season, this is what we know. On August 1, 2019, the makers revealed that the critically acclaimed drama series’ fourth season would be it’s last.
To assuage fans’ sadness at the series’ cancellation, the producers released a short video titled ‘Saying Goodbye,’ which briefly recaps the show’s journey through behind-the-scenes footage and confessionals from a few cast members on the last day of production. Bring on the tears!
In response to the show’s termination, Devin Druid, who portrays Tyler Down, said that the final season provides an ideal sendoff for all the characters, arguing that it is the show’s proper conclusion.

13 Reasons Why Plotline
The series is fixed in the late 2010s in Evergreen, California, a fictitious county. The majority of the series’ central protagonists are Liberty High School students.
The first season centers on Clay Jensen, a student at Liberty High who gets a pair of cassette records on his front porch. Hannah Baker, a past Liberty High student who committed suicide, recorded thirteen reasons for her actions on the tapes.
Each recording has an explanation for the following individuals: Justin Foley, Jessica Davis, Alex Standall, Tyler Down, Courtney Crimson, Marcus Cole, Zach Dempsey, Ryan Shaver, Sheri Holland, Clay, Hannah herself, Bryce Walker, and Kevin Porter (a school guidance counselor who is the only non-student among the tape subjects).
The season features flashbacks from Hannah’s perspective that shed light on the trauma she endured as a student and the events that ultimately led to her death.
Hannah’s parents sued the school district after Hannah’s tapes were made public in the second season. The fallout from the first season’s events is further demonstrated, as is the toll it has taken on the lives of Liberty High’s students.
After the season, Tyler tries a school shooting after being deeply traumatized by Monty but is apprehended by Clay and Tony. Tyler’s pistol is delivered to Clay as Tony drives Tyler away.
In the third season, which features the new lead character Ani Achola and takes place eight months after the previous season, Clay and his pals fight to retain Tyler’s cover while assisting him in rehabilitation.
Tensions between the tape subjects escalate after Bryce is assassinated and Clay suspects. Bryce’s prior acts and the person he has become in the aftermath of the revelation of Hannah’s recordings are analyzed in the aftermath of his death.
In the fourth and final season, Clay struggles with mental health concerns after Bryce and Monty’s deaths as the students prepare for college interviews and approach graduation.
