Teen Wolf: The Movie is now available to stream on Paramount+, but many fans of the MTV show won’t be watching. Why? Because Stiles, the best part of the show, isn’t in it.
Teen Wolf: The Movie picks up 13 years after we last saw Scott McCall, even though the show has only been off the air for six years. It was written by the show’s creator, Jeff Davis, and was directed by Russell Mulcahy, who was a key director on the show. Tyler Posey is back as Scott, Tyler Hoechlin is back as Derek, Holland Roden is back as Lydia, Colton Haynes is back as Jackson, and Crystal Reed is back as Allison

What Happens To Stiles In Teen Wolf: The Movie?
When strange things might happen in Beacon Hills, Derek Hale tells Sheriff Stilinski that he should “call his son.” This is the only time Stiles is mentioned. Stilinski says, “Right now, Stiles has to put out his own fires.”
During Teen Wolf: The Movie, that’s pretty much the only hint we get about what Stiles might be up to. We also find out (spoiler alert) that Lydia and Stiles broke up because Lydia had dreams about Stiles dying in a car accident and started to worry that they were true. Stiles doesn’t die, but again, he isn’t in the movie. Still, his favorite Jeep does make an appearance.
Why Are Stiles Not In The Teen Wolf Movie?
After the Teen Wolf movie was announced, Dylan O’Brien told Variety that he wouldn’t be a part of it because it was put together so quickly and he didn’t have much time to find a way to make it work for himself. “I was trying to make it work, but everything happened very quickly,” he said. “We didn’t really know it was going to happen, and they kind of just threw it at us, which is fine because we all love the show. We tried to figure out what was going on.”
He also said that he thought the show ended well at the end of Season 6, so he didn’t feel the need to continue Stiles’ story. “Ultimately, I just decided that it was left in a perfect place for me, and I still want to leave it there,” he said.
In a follow-up interview for Decider, O’Brien was asked about his decision to leave the show. He said, “It will always mean a lot to me. And it was hard to make the choice I did, but I think I chose the one that was truest to who I am right now. I’m so excited to see it.”
