What Has Vybz Kartel’s, Attorney Said?
According to the 18karatreggae, If everything goes as planned by his attorney, Isat Buchanan, Vybz Kartel will be free in 2022.
Kartel took his case to the Privy Council in the UK, where his attorney thinks he has a real chance of getting out of jail. Now, the Privy Council, which is like the Supreme Court in the U.S., will have the last word.
Vybz Kartel has said that “he did not kill Clive Williams, whose body was never found, and that he is innocent. His conviction was mostly based on evidence that was hard to prove, like video and phone records from his BlackBerry Torch and an unreliable witness.”
Buchanan had requested that the phone containing the evidence used to implicate Vybz Kartel be inspected for tampering by a third-party organization.
After the phone was examined by a digital expert from the UK, it was determined that it had been tampered with.
Buchanan also said that he is now sure that the phone messages that were used as proof were all fake and invented.
Buchanan hopes and is confident that when the Privy Council examines the new evidence he is currently filing, they will see what everyone else who looked at the case saw: that the evidence used to convict Vybz Kartel was made up.
“I’m very happy and optimistic about being before the Privy Council. It is the final court, and justice is for all, “Buchanan stated.”
