In a new teaser trailer for the HBO drama Succession, the release date for the fourth season has been revealed. The short, dramatic teaser, which aired in the US during the season 1 finale of House of the Dragon, had a title card at the end that said the movie would come out in spring 2023.
This comes after the end of season three, which happened in December 2021. In that episode, Logan Roy, the family patriarch, gave Lukas Matsson permission to buy Waystar Royco, even though his children were against it.
In the official synopsis for season four, it says, “The prospect of this seismic sale causes existential angst and family division among the Roys as they think about what their lives will be like once the deal is done.”
“A power struggle breaks out when the family considers a future in which their cultural and political influence will be greatly reduced.”
In the trailer, you can see how tense things are between the family members. In one clip, Logan thinks about his business moves and how they will affect his business. He says, “No matter what I try to do, people turn against me.”
Other members of the Roy family and their allies draw battle lines as they deal with the effects of Logan’s choices.
Brian Cox, who plays Logan, recently talked about the show’s future. He said he wouldn’t want it to “overstay its welcome.”
“No one’s contract has been kept. Who knows how much longer this will last? We don’t want it to drag on like [Showtime’s] Billions, which has been on for too long “he said.
“We won’t let that happen on our show.”
