She also is the Democratic vice presidential nominee for the 2020 election. Kamala has been married to her husband, attorney Douglas Emhoff, since 2014.
Democrat Willie Brown, on the other hand was San Francisco’s first Black who was sworn as Mayor. There were plenty of surprises for people in flamboyant California.

Brown had appointed Harris to the California Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board and then to the Medical Assistance Commission. That position paid Kamala more than $400,000 over five years, according to sources.
Brown also gave Harris a BMW. Was is really just a give and take relationship with a validity of the contract?
Brown addressed their past relationship in San Francisco Chronicle on Jan. 26, 2019. It was just a day before Kamala officially launched her presidential campaign.
He said: “Yes, we dated. It was more than 20 years ago. Yes, I may have influenced her career by appointing her to two state commissions when I was Assembly speaker” “And I certainly helped with her first race for district attorney in San Francisco.
I have also helped the careers of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Gov. Gavin Newsom, Senator, Dianne Feinstein and a host of other politicians”. Unfortunately he dumped her for no reason.
Kamala Harris response to Willie Brown on ‘shaping her career’
Harris on the other hand had been disappointed by the claims, that Brown influenced her career and her achievements. Probably making her feel like an unworthy and opportunistic woman who dated a successful man for her interests.
Although Brown supported Harris in her successful 2003 run for San Francisco district attorney. Kamala totally distanced herself from him in that race.
During an interview with SF Weekly Kamala stated that Brown – whose career was dogged by corruption allegations – was an “albatross hanging around” her neck.
At the time of her first run for office for San Francisco district attorney, SF Weekly quoted that Harris explained: “I refuse to design my campaign around criticizing Willie Brown for the sake of appearing to be independent when I have no doubt that I am independent of him — and that he would probably right now express some fright about the fact that he cannot control me”.
She also said that Willie’s career is over. But Kamala, herself is alive and kicking for the next 40 years. Kamala feels that she does not owe Willie Brown anything.
Also, Harris did not run for political office until her relationship with Brown ended. She had allegation of cronyism in Willie’s appointment of her two well-payed political posts.
In 2003, she made a successful bid for the office of San Francisco district attorney. She held the position until she was elected to serve as the attorney general of California.
She held that post until she was elected in 2016 to serve in the United States Senate representing the state of California.
