Since Invincible‘s long-awaited debut on Amazon Prime Video more than a year ago, everyone hasn’t stopped talking about it. If we’re being honest, people were talking about it long before it came out. It was almost as if they knew it would be a huge hit, which is exactly what happened.
And why wouldn’t it work? It’s based on a highly regarded Image Comics series by Robert Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley, and Kirkman is a big part of the show. When its first three episodes came out on the service in March 2021, everyone loved Invincible.
The first season of the show only had eight episodes, but fans of the comic and new fans alike made the most of it, praising the show for its bold creative choices, mature storytelling, and overall faithfulness to the source material. They also spent a lot of time letting Amazon know that they wanted a second season, and Amazon gave them what they wanted by extending the show for a second and third season.
The second season of Invincible is definitely coming, but we won’t be seeing it this month. The streaming service has released its list of shows for June 2022, and Invincible is not on it.
