The steampunk TV series premiered in August 2019 with eight episodes, introducing us to a dark Victorian-style doomed world shattered by war and species division but based on the ending it’s clear that its epic tale is far from Fans were understandably worried when the Carnival Row season two release date was pushed back from December 2018 to 2020. Carnival Row Season 2 production update: Is filming for the new episodes over?

The show had boosted production in November 2019 only to be scuttled by COVID-19.

It was announced that the production of Carnival Row’s second season had resumed in May with a yet to be seen release date. Based on the time it took to film, we can conclude that post-production will take additional time.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly in February 2021, Tamzin Merchant, who plays Imogen Spurnrose in the show revealed that only five of eight episodes were finished.Carnival Row Season 2

Carnival Row Season 2 Release Date: When Will New Episodes Come Out In Amazon Prime?

There is no release date scheduled at this time. It’s possible that the show will debut on Amazon Prime Video sometime in early 2022, if the first season follows a similar timeline. Updates will be made to this page as they are released.

Carnival Row Season 2 plot: What can we expect?

Amazon Prime Video has not revealed the plot synopsis for Carnival Row Season 2. From the ending at the end of season 1, we can expect to find out more about segregation in the second season.

In last episode of Season 1, government ordered a plan to divide magical creatures from humans. Knowing that Vignette would be separated from him, Philo confronted that he too is half creature and so decided to join her in the ghetto.

Elsewhere, Agreus and Imogene sailed away to a safer place in the finale of Season 1. However, they refused to go back when the authorities ordered their ship to return. It’s likely that Season 2 will see the couple take on a more adventurous path- and hopefully this plot will eventually merge with Philo’s and Vignette. Well the officials haven’t announced the release date yet. But we can expect that the season 2 will be available in 2022.
