After her release, Mandalorian actress Gina Carano revealed that her first project was her role as Cara Dune in the Disney Star Wars series. The actress began her film career in the late 2000s, and her previous films include Deadpool, Haywire, and Fast & Furious 6.

Carano revealed that her ‘first project since being fired’ was her role in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. In seasons 1 and 2, she played the Mandalorian Caras Dune, a former rebel group allied with Din Djarin, and another Mandalorian, Pedro Pascal.

In February this year, Carano posted several posts on social media, which she later removed after many users deemed her offensive.

One of the contributions referred to the death of the notorious convicted sexual offender Jeffrey Epstein and equated sex offender Jeffrey Epstein’s treatment of Republicans in the United States during the Nazi Holocaust by the Jewish people. For Carano, the posts were not the first to prove controversial.

The actress’s social media posts led to her being branded transphobic, alt-right, racist, and anti-masking after disparaging people wearing masks during the COVID-19 pandemic.

# FireGinGinaCarano spread on Twitter, with outraged users calling on Lucasfilm to kick Carano out of the show.

On February 10, Lucasfilm confirmed that Cara Dune would not appear in any of their future projects, in addition to her removal from the Mandalorian series. According to Deadline, Cara Dune secured her first role since leaving the show.

Based on his novel White Knuckles, the actress will star in the untitled film by Eric Red, Blue Steel, and The Hitcher.

She will play a traumatized, strong-willed woman who survives an attempt by a serial killer called White Knuckle. Haunted by their encounter and angry that the police failed to catch the killer, she forces a trucker to hunt him down.

In addition to the lead role, Carano is producing an action thriller in the style of other dark thrillers such as Duels and Breakdown. The film was developed in partnership with the Daily Wire, a media company founded by leading conservative political commentator Ben Shapiro.

Filming is scheduled to begin in Tennessee, Utah, and Montana in October.

Carano announced her plans to work with The Daily Wire just days after being fired from The Mandalorian. Given Carano’s recent history, it’s not surprising that the media company would be willing to promote a lead actress for his new project.

As a future partner for Shapiro, Carano’s best way to secure the role was to leave Giant and The Mandalorians. The furious reaction to her insulting remarks on social media made it clear that many people were not prepared to welcome her back to the screen.
