This summer, Blue Beetle will introduce us to a new DC character, and we’ve got the first trailer to whet your appetite. The movie is the first DC movie to be about a Latino superhero. Cobra Kai star Xolo Mariduea plays Jaime Reyes, who gets skills when he teams up with an old piece of alien biotechnology.
It’s the second-to-last Worlds of DC movie before the new era starts, but let’s hope we don’t see Blue Beetle and Jaime Reyes for the last time.
But let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves. Here’s everything you need to know about Blue Beetle.
Blue Beetle: Release Date In India
Warner Bros. revealed that Blue Beetle would be in theatres on August 18, 2023.
Planned to go straight to HBO Max’s streaming service, the plan was revised in December 2021, and the movie will now be shown in theatres. (via The Hollywood Reporter).
From May to July last year, scenes were shot in places like Atlanta, Georgia, El Paso, Texas, and Puerto Rico. By posting a picture from the set in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Susan Sarandon said on Instagram that she had finished filming her part as the movie’s bad guy at the end of June.
Plot Details Of Blue Beetle
We got the first official plot summary for Blue Beetle and the first trailer, although it’s unclear.
“Jaime Reyes just finished college and goes home full of plans for the future. When he arrives, he finds things aren’t exactly the same as when he left. As Jaime tries to figure out his place in the world, fate steps in when he finds himself possessing the Scarab, an ancient piece of alien biotechnology.
“When the Scarab chooses Jaime out of the blue to be its symbiotic host, it gives him an amazing suit of armor that gives him strange and unpredictable powers. This changes his life for good, and he becomes the superhero Blue Beetle.”
Reyes isn’t the first superhero to become Blue Beetle. In the books, he’s really the third guy to take on the role.
Dan Garret, who first appeared in comics in 1939, was the first Blue Beetle. He was a police officer who fought crime after taking Vitamin 2X and acquiring superpowers. In the 1964 version, Garrett was an archaeologist whose powers originated from an old Egyptian scarab, more like the modern Blue Beetle.
Garrett’s student Ted Kord became the second Blue Beetle in 1966. In 2006, Jaime Reyes took over as the third Blue Beetle.
Victoria Kord is the sister of the former Blue Beetle Ted Kord, who could never get Garrett’s scarab to work in the comics.
In Blue Beetle: Graduation Day #2, which came out later, her character was introduced as the CEO of Kord Industries, a company that makes technology based on extraterrestrial technology. In the movie, we think she’ll do anything to get her hands on the Scarab.

Blue Beetle: Cast Details
In August 2021, Cobra Kai star Xolo Mariduea was cast as Jaime Reyes, also known as the Blue Beetle. Last year, the first picture of him on set in his superhero costume was shown.

“In the beginning, I felt a little bit like a fraud. Like, “Oh my God, how do they know? I haven’t even looked at the script. How do they know that?’ Everyone was incredibly friendly and gave me confidence while doing the movie.”
Maridueña is joined on screen by:
