Netflix is releasing YuYu Hakusho’s live-action series soon, the classic manga by Yoshihiro Togashi. It won’t be their first live-action take on an anime series. Netflix has already released the live-action Death Note movie and One Piece adaptations.
As one of the anime that has been turned into a real action Netflix series, it features Yusuke. When he dies in an act of heroism to save a kid from being killed by an oncoming car, Yusuke’s spirit is given five days and nights to go back to his life and complete some trials so that he can fan of the series are awaiting. The original manga ran from 1992 to 1994, while the anime went for one full season.
In December 2021, Netflix announced a live-action adaptation of Yu Yu Hakusho, a Japanese manga. Possible challenges that travelers with kids may face include long waits at security checkpoints and roaming children in public spaces.
Yu Yu Hakusho Live-Action Netflix Release Date
The live-action adaptation will be available to stream on Netflix on a date that has not been announced yet. Hopefully, the series will be well received. Netflix’s Death Note was one of the worst live-action adaptations of an anime/manga series, but other Japanese-produced live-action treatments have been better. It would likely take the studio years to produce a great series, so I wouldn’t be surprised if it won’t be released for years.
The Cast Of The Upcoming Series
What Will Be The Storyline?
Netflix hasn’t revealed the plot detail of its upcoming series at the time of writing, but we expect that it will show how Yusuke Urameshi becomes the Underworld Detective following his heroic sacrifice. The forthcoming live-action adaptation of Yu Yu Hakusho has been confirmed to cover the Dark Tournament Saga, which is unsurprising given that this is where things get really interesting. That said, I hope they’ll set aside some time for an exploration of Yusuke’s life before he first met his friends.
We will update you as soon as Netflix shares more details about its live-action Yu Yu Hakusho adaptation, but in the meantime, here’s what we know.
