Reba McEntire is not asking herself, “Does He Love You?”
On Thursday, the country star went on Today and talked about her relationship with actor Rex Linn, which she said started when her mother Jacqueline got sick during the pandemic. She passed away last year.
“Rex and I have been friends since 1991 when we were both in The Gambler with Kenny Rogers. Since then, we’ve stayed in touch,” the 66-year-old told the morning show.
“Then, when my mother got sick in 2020, he called me,” she said. Cancer killed her mother. “We had met before because we were both on the show Young Sheldon. So, starting in March 2020, we just kept talking and coming to see each other until we finally met up. See you in June. Since then, we haven’t really been apart much.”
Linn, who is 66, and McEntire had their first date in January, but they started dating seriously when the pandemic hit.
In October of last year, she said, “It’s nice to have someone to talk to, laugh with, and talk about what’s going on.” “We talked about our pasts, our families, funny stories, and the fact that he was an actor and I was an actress. And he likes my music a lot. I’m very interested in his work.”
She added, “It’s great to be able to talk to someone who I find very interesting, very funny, and very smart, and who is also interested in me.”

In January, the couple went to a movie theatre for the first time to see Tom Hanks’s News of the World.
“We took AMC up on their offer to show movies privately. First movie date!” McEntire wrote the captions for the pictures that Linn put on his Instagram page.
McEntire and Linn, who call each other “Tater Tot” and “Sugar Tot” with affection, walked the red carpet for the first time at the CMA Awards in 2020. McEntire told PEOPLE before the show, “We’re both excited that he’s going to be there with me.”
McEntire has been married before, twice. She and Narvel Blackstock broke up and got a divorce in 2015. They had been together for 26 years. Before that, from 1976 to 1987, she was married to Charlie Battles. Anthony “Skeeter” Lasuzzo was her last boyfriend. She broke up with him in 2019, though. Linn, on the other hand, was engaged to Renee DeRose in 2010.
