Following the success of Venom and its sequel, Venom: Let There Be Carnage, star Tom Hardy recently hinted at the development of the third film with an Instagram post that displayed the title page of the new screenplay.
The film series follows the origins of the anti-hero, with Eddie Brock accidentally merging with the crazed alien symbiote Venom as they attempt to invade Earth. Inadvertently killing the other symbiotes being experimented on, Venom is the only surviving alien, making Brock a target for those looking into alien symbiotes.
Brock and Venom eventually bond and set out to protect their city by murdering criminals in a storyline that defies Marvel’s mostly do-gooder hero plots. Venom: Let There Be Carnage continued the series by spreading Venom to serial killer Cletus Kasady, resulting in Carnage, Venom’s archenemy.
The film’s conclusion alludes to Venom’s vision of alternate universes, with Brock transported to the MCU. Suggesting the beginnings of a trilogy, Hardy has now confirmed that production is underway, leaving fans to wonder: when, what, and who will be involved?
Venom 3 Expected Release Date?
Venom 3 has been confirmed, but an official release date has not yet been announced.
Sony’s Spider-Man universe will be busy for the next two years, with Kraven the Hunter coming out on January 13, 2023, Madame Web on July 7, 2023, and El Muerto on January 12, 2024.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse will be released on June 2, 2023, and Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse will be released on March 29, 2024.
If Venom 3 starts filming in 2022, it might come out in theaters in 2024, maybe in October 2024, since the first two movies came out in October 2018 and October 2021.
For now, that’s just a guess from us, so keep an eye on this space for more news about when it will come out.
Venom 3 Expected Cast?
We don’t know for sure who will appear in Venom 3. However, it would be extremely strange not to see Tom Hardy reprise his roles as Venom and Eddie Brock. He’s a big name, but he’s also the film’s beating heart, bringing the character to life even in the most absurd scenes. Another notable appearance would be Stephen Graham as Detective Mulligan and Toxin.
That is, assuming the plot follows the path implied by the film’s ending. They could recast the role, but it appears unlikely at this point.
We could also see the return of Michelle Williams as Anne Weying, Reid Scott as Dr. Dan Lewis, and a few other minor characters who have helped to give the Venom films a more human touch.
Given that Venom ate Woody Harrelson’s head, we don’t think he’ll return, but who knows? Perhaps his scarlet symbiote will resurrect him? All we can do is wait and see.
Venom 3 Plot Speculation?
Though nothing has been revealed about the plot of the film, Let There Be Carnage was a good sequel to part one, and we expect Venom 3 to follow suit.
There’s also a chance we’ll see some Spiderman and Venom moments in this one. The plot will revolve around an already-known symbiotic Antihero. Despite all of these rumors, it is best to wait until the makers make an official announcement.
What has happened so far in the Venom films?
Venom (2018)
Eddie Brock is fired from his job as an investigative journalist in the first installment of Marvel’s anti-hero franchise after attempting to discredit tech mogul Carlton Drake (Riz Ahmed).
Drake’s nefarious symbiotic experiments lead to Brock’s encounter with Venom, an outer-space organism that requires a human host to survive. The two work together to bring Drake to justice for his crimes, discovering that they are more alike than they thought. After the dust settles, Brock pays a visit to serial killer Cletus Kassidy (Woody Harrelson) in prison, though he may come to regret it.
Venom: Let There Carnage (2021)
Eddie Brock is still in contact with Cletus Kassidy shortly after the events of Venom. Kassidy later attempts to attack Brock after giving him newsworthy features to write about his crimes, prompting Venom to protect him.
Having revealed that Brock is harboring his own secret and getting a taste of his blood, Kassidy later unleashes deranged symbiote Carnage into the world. Kassidy’s troubled past comes back to haunt him, as childhood flame Frances Berrison/Shriek joins him on his rampage.
As Venom defeats Carnage, Detective Patrick Mulligan (Stephen Graham) is caught in the crossfire, though it is suggested that Mulligan may undergo a symbiotic transformation of his own, possibly becoming Toxin in a future film.
Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)
Eddie Brock was transported to the MCU 616 universe in the after credits of Venom: Let There Be Carnage. Brock is still on the run from authorities after defeating Carnage in the post-credits scene of No Way Home. He’s perplexed to learn of Spider-Man and other Avengers members’ existence.
Before setting out to find Spider-Man, Brock is transported back to the Sony Pictures universe by Doctor Strange’s incantation, which restores the multiverse (for now).
Spider-man Will Appear In Venom 3?
No. Eddie meets the MCU’s Wallcrawler doesn’t seem very likely at this point, or at least unlikely. It’s possible he’ll run into another Spidey variant in his universe, but given that Venom was transported back to his dimension after No Way Home, the chances of him running into Tom Holland’s version of the Web-Slinger are slim.
Having said that, Venom did leave a small piece of himself in the MCU, so it appears that Marvel’s Spider-Man will likely meet some version of the symbiote at some point.
Where To Watch Venom 3?
Venom 3 will be released in theaters near you first. After the theatrical window has closed, we may be able to watch the film on streaming services such as HBO Max.
Venom, starring Tom Hardy, has reawakened a dormant fandom that has followed the hero’s exploits since the 1990s. Now that a third film has been confirmed, we’re crossing our fingers (and keeping our secret symbiote-hosting hopes at bay) that Venom 3 will be released on time.
Venom 3 Trailer?
As of this writing, there is no trailer for Venom 3.
Sony announced that Venom 3 will begin production in late April 2022, so we can expect the final release date and trailer in late 2023 to early 2024.
