Yay! Just two months after the second season of The Great debuted on Hulu, the streaming service has officially given the show the green light.

Tony McNamara’s award-winning satirical comedy-drama, based partly on real events, returns for its third season with a dramatic twist at the end of Season 2 that saw Catherine the Great (played by Elle Fanning) once again, attempt and fail to assassinate her husband, Peter III (Nicholas Hoult).

When Fanning and Hoult spoke with Newsweek about the upcoming Season 3 premiere, they discussed how they see parenting their first child together. You can find out all you need to know about the third season of The Great Show, from the release date to the cast and narrative.

 The Great Season 3

There is currently no confirmed release date for The Great Season 3 on Hulu. It was only on January 11, 2022, that the season was given the go-ahead.

If the first two seasons are any indication, The Great will be released in the latter half of 2022.

However, given that the coronavirus epidemic delayed the development and distribution of The Great Season 2, it’s possible that The Great Season 3 may be on screens sooner than predicted.

Season 3 of The Great was officially announced by the show’s actress, Elle Fanning, on Instagram.

Fanning posted a message along with a video of a collage of memorable scenes from Season 2 of The Great Show.”THIS CALLS FOR A BIG HUZZAH! We’ll be returning for a season 3!!!!!”

Fans are not surprised by the 10-episode extension. As of right now, the show has a perfect score on Rotten Tomatoes, and it’s been nominated for a slew of awards, including many Critics’ Choice and Golden Globes.

You can catch up on the first two seasons on Hulu while you wait. You can get started for $6.99 right now.The Great Season 3

The Great Season 3 Storyline

In the third season of The Great, Catherine’s newest outburst is bound to have an impact. It all went horribly wrong for Queen Catherine of Aragon once she found her husband, King Peter III, had slept with and then assassinated her mother, Joanna, after she stole the crown from Peter III (Gillian Anderson).

Forgiving Peter in public, Catherine went to his apartment and assaulted him with a frantic knife assault…or at least, she believed she did. Afterward, she apologized to him. Peter’s double Pugachev had been attacked by Catherine (Nicholas Hoult).

Peter was startled to see a scared Catherine and a bleeding Pugachev in his bedroom, and she raced into his arms.

At Mariel’s (Phoebe Fox) wedding, while this was going on in Peter’s apartments, Catherine had her faithful followers and guards arrest Peter’s supporters. Mariel, Catherine’s best friend, was among those who were detained as a result of this.

There was a chance that Pugachev would have been killed in the attack, but he survived. In 1774, Yemelyan Pugachev led a major peasant uprising while posing as Peter III, the Russian emperor. When it comes to the fate of Catherine in Season 3, there’s a good probability that Pugachev will play an important part.

Fanning and Hoult also told Newsweek that their son Paul might play a big role in Season 3.

Fanning said: “They have a kid and I don’t know how old that kid would be. I want the kid to be around. I think that would be interesting.”
