Josiah was known to be a jokester as a kid, often pulling pranks on his parents and siblings. Growing up, he and his younger sister Joy-Anna have a very close relationship, often spending their free time playing together.
Josiah was educated at home as a child. At the age of seventeen, he sat for the GED exam and passed. For this occasion, his family threw a graduation party.
Josiah was allocated “jurisdictions” as a youngster, which the family referred to as chores. Trash removal was one of Josiah’s many responsibilities throughout the year 2004. In 2011, one of Josiah’s responsibilities was to clean the restrooms. Most likely, Josiah was relieved of all jurisdictional responsibilities when he started courting, just as his sisters had been when they first began courting.
Parents of Josiah began using a buddy system in 2001, pairing each older kid with a smaller one to look after. Dressing, washing, and feeding their younger companions were all common responsibilities for an elder friend. For a brief period of time, it’s possible that Josiah was a younger companion in this system. Individual friends were phased out in favor of buddy teams, each led by one of the family’s eldest four daughters, by 2009. As a result, Josiah did not have a buddy group.
For many years, Josiah had piano lessons from Ruth Anita Anderson, who he and his siblings called “Nana.” He also had lessons in the violin. The cello has been spotted being played by Josiah as an adult, however it is not known when he first learned to play it. Josiah and his family relocated to Springdale, Arkansas, in 2006, as seen in one of the television programs. In order to provide their children with the best learning experience possible, they decided to perform the majority of the housework themselves. Josiah and his siblings shared a dormitory-style room at this residence.
Josiah and his family moved into the Cornish House in Little Rock, Arkansas, in the fall of 2009, after Josie was born prematurely (NICU). Josiah and his family returned home as soon as Josie was well enough to leave the NICU.
As an extra on Courageous in 2010, Josiah was cut from the final product.
In part because of the program, Josiah has had several travels as a teenager and young adult. Disneyland, New York City, Niagara Falls, Scotland, Ireland, London, Israel, China, and Japan are just a few of the world’s most popular tourist destinations.
