
Jacob Blake, the 29-year-old Black man, was shot 7 times last month in Kenosha. Finally, he speaks to the public in about a minute-long video. He is still in the hospital and the video is released by his attorney, Benjamin Crump.
Blake talks about how life changed for him in a split second. He describes the kind of pain that he has been experiencing ever since that fateful night of August 23rd. The shooting has left him paralysed from the waist down.
Blake Talks About The Pain That He Is Experiencing From August 23rd
Jacob Blake says: “I just want to say, man…it’s a lot more life to live out here, man. Your life…can be taken from you like this, man,” he says snapping his right fingers.
“I’ve got staples in my back, staples in my damn stomach. You do not want to have to deal with this s—, man,”.
He explains that for him every 24 hours has been nothing but pain. He is hurt when he breathes, hurt when he sleeps, hurt when he tries to move from side to side and even hurt when he eats.
Blake asks everyone to change their lives and make things work because time has already been wasted enough.
How Did The Incident Came About?

The incident took place when police officers, including Officer Rusten Sheskey, came to his house.
According to the authorities, the officers came in response to a domestic a woman’s call to 911 saying, “Her boyfriend was present and was not supposed to be on the premises”.
The woman who called has still not been identified and the authorities did not reveal whether Blake was the one they received the complaint against.
All the officers that are known to have been involved in the incident are given administrative leave. Authorities have said that Sheskey is the only officer who shot at Blake.
However, till now there has been no filing of charges with respect to the shooting.
