Although the exact release date has not been revealed, the show’s Instagram account indicated that season two would launch in 2022. Given that the first season premiered in April, Cruel Summer season two is expected to launch in April 2022 at the earliest.

The first season delves into the enigma behind Kate’s disappearance. Kate and Jeanette reconvene at Martin’s residence to discuss the alleged sighting of Kate by Jeanette.
After Kate believes Mallory was the one who saw her abduction, she and Jeanette go to the basement where Martin had imprisoned Kate. There, Kate admits to shooting Martin.
Kate turns against Mallory after announcing Jeanette’s innocence, to which she responds that she just discovered everything after Kate’s rescue. In the season’s last moments, it is revealed that Jeanette did indeed hear Kate’s pleas at Martin’s home but took no action.
