Previous winners Dara Ó Briain, Morgana Robinson, Sarah Kendall, and Sophie Duker will return to the Taskmaster stage in a thrilling match, competing for the top prize. They will be vying for a major award that will represent Greg Davies’s legendary status.
The story takes a surprising turn when Series 15 runner-up Kiell Smith-Bynoe enters as a late replacement. Smith-Bynoe, who will take Mae Martin’s place as the winner of series 15, has the potential to become the first non-champion to win the crown.
Mae Martin said: “I am absolutely fuming at the fact that I am unable to participate in Taskmaster’s Champion of Champions. I would love nothing more than to fight for the title of ultimate champion and spend another week of my life being ridiculed by Greg. I am, however, confident in the choice to send Kiell to fight on my behalf.
We should have it in the bag since he is a young man who is nimble, fiercely competitive, and far funnier than I am. To make myself known, I’ve sent a few surprises. From the United States, I’m holding my breath and cheering you on, Kiell. Good luck.
Kiell Smith Bynoe added: “As if it wasn’t enough pressure representing the whole of black Britain in S15 now I have to represent the entire nation of Canada in Champion of Champions. I’ve never even been. I didn’t even win my series. Look I’ll try alright.”
