A new project knocks the door of Johnny Depp. The shooting for the 3rd film of the Fantastic Beast franchise, is to begin. Depp filed a libel case against Suns Group for calling him a ‘wife beater.’ Now, it’s ex wife Amber Heard’s turn.
Amber Heard, wrote about domestic violence in an op-ed published in the Washington Post in 2018. She called herself a victim. This allegation pointed towards husband Johnny Depp. Depp, has filed a case of defamation against Heard in 2019, whose trials were to begin from January 11-28th.

Depp now requests to postpone the trial, as shooting for his upcoming project, ‘Fantastic Beast 3’ is to begin. The shooting for the David Yates directed film was postponed due to the Coronavirus outbreak.
London was chosen as the shooting spot, and conditions there have improved over time. The filming is to begin from October and will go upto February. This will clash with the trial.
The court papers put is as, “When the court set the current trial date, Mr. Depp understood that Warner Bros. planned to shoot ‘Fantastic Beasts 3’ in London, long before January 11, 2021. COVID-19 disrupted the studios plans, causing repeated postponements. With conditions in London having improved somehow, Warner Bros. has now set a shooting schedule that conflicts with the trial date in this case.”
Depp has requested to postpone the dates of the trial between March to June 2021.
Will the trial effect Amber Heard’s ‘Aquaman 2’ shoot?

The legal papers issued also state that they shall not “entail any prejudices to her, much less unfair prejudices” as Amber Heard is expected to shoot for the Aquaman sequel. To this, Depp has agreed to have a meeting on Sept 11, to discuss about the potential delay. Amber Heard’s ‘Aquaman 2’ is set to hit the theaters on December 16, 2022.
