Jenna Ortega is one of the few child actors who has worked consistently. Since her first lead role as Harley Diaz on the Disney Channel show Stuck in the Middle, where she was from Coachella Valley, she has taken part in Jane the Virgin, You, and other shows. But in 2022, when she was only 20 the starlet showed that she could also rule the big screen.
Jenna started off the year with a lead role in the latest Scream movie, and with the film X, she went even further into the horror genre. The actor’s most recent role was as the title character in the scary Netflix movie Wednesday.
Jenna played a big sister trying to find her way outside her “kooky” family. The role was made famous in the 1990s by Christina Ricci. Even though Jenna doesn’t always dress like her character, she can understand what it’s like to be a big sister. Let’s look at Jenna Ortega’s family tree and see who her siblings are and where she fits in.
Jenna Ortega Is The Middle Child Of Five Children
Jenna’s parents, Natalie and Edward A. Ortega brought her into the world on September 27, 2002. Edward and Natalie had three older children before Jenna was born: Isaac (23), Mariah (23), and Mia (23). (22). Isaac was born on January 1, 1998, and Mariah was born on January 25, 1999. Mia came into the world on May 15, 2000.
After Jenna was born, her parents added two more kids to the Ortega family. Jenna’s twin brothers, Aaliyah and Markus, who are now 18 years old, were born in June 2004, making Jenna the middle child of a family of six.
In prominent families, middle children are often called the “forgotten ones,” but Jenna said she doesn’t mind the name. She said that being the middle child helped her prepare for her role on Stuck in the Middle.
“There are a lot of myths about being the middle child, but it’s actually pretty cool,” Jenna told Mama’s Mission blog in an interview in 2016. “Your older and younger siblings feel like they can tell you anything. Most of the time, the middle child is the one who has to miss an event. This makes the parents feel bad, so they try to make up for it in other ways. In general, middle children can get away with more.
Jenna Ortega Rarely Posts About Her Siblings
Jenna doesn’t talk about her family in public except in a few interviews. If you follow the actress from “American Carnage,” you’ll notice that she mostly posts about acting projects and other work-related events on her Instagram account. But her mom Natalie is active on social media and posts pictures of all six of her children.
In September 2022, in honor of National Daughter’s Day, Natalie posted an old picture of Jenna, Mariah, Mia, and Aaliyah. She wrote under the black-and-white picture how thankful she was for each daughter. Natalie wrote, “Happy Daughters Day to my four beautiful daughters.” “May you always look for rainbows when it rains and finds the stars when it’s dark? I love all of you so much.
Jenna posted a similar photo on Instagram in June 2015, before she was famous. But for now, it seems like she wants to keep her page professional, which is fine.
