A while back, rumors circulated that a prequel to the well-known animated picture The Polar Express would soon be released. The Christmas Express, the most recent production, was scheduled to debut in 2023. Was such a prequel intended to be made?
News of the new show quickly spread after a poster featuring Tom Hanks in a conductor’s uniform surfaced. Among the characters the actor voiced in the animation were Santa Claus, the conductor, and the main character.
The Christmas Express Movie Release Date
After a poster featuring a live-action Tom Hanks dressed as a train conductor went viral, rumours of a new prequel film to The Polar Express began to circulate online.
Is Warner Bros.’ The Christmas Express was exclusively available on the Max streaming service in December 2023 as the poster claimed.

To further feed the false rumour, Spotted News also published an article with a fake synopsis for the nonexistent prequel, The Christmas Express.
The source claims that Hanks will play Woodford Newton, the lead role in the Polar Express prequel. The statement claims that the hoax prequel’s story “unfolds during a fateful accident” on a Christmas train ride, during which he changes into the Polar Express’s conductor and the holiday spirit.
Hanks played several prominent roles in the original 2004 Warner Bros. hit, which told the story of a young child who, on Christmas Eve in the 1950s, finds himself on a magical train to the North Pole to visit Santa Claus.
Regretfully, no new Polar Express project is being developed by Warner Bros. as far as the public is aware. By all accounts, the poster making the rounds on the internet seems to be an artificial intelligence (AI) creation that has managed to fool a lot of people, which is what started the viral rumour.
Falling for the hoax, one fan on X, formerly known as Twitter, exclaimed “A POLAR EXPRESS PREQUEL?! IM SO EXCITED.”

@usedwifi also questioned the fake poster, wondering “why would the [Warner Bros.] logo be front and center” and displayed so prominently on the artwork.
