Daragh Carville (Being Human, The Smoke, Cherrybomb) returns as the series’ writer, with filming scheduled to begin in Spring 2021.

Marsha Thomason, the star, shared additional details about the case during our conversation. She described her first day on the case as follows: “It begins with a vehicle accident and continues with a case, so she has a lot to deal with. She’s lost trust in her abilities since, despite her competence, she’s in a bit of a pickle when we meet her.”

What happened in the first episode?

DS Jenn Townsend is involved in a car accident while driving her children to school. After dealing with the accident, she rushes over to a mother watching the police recover a kid’s body, who turns out to be her son, Saif Rahman.

She is subsequently assigned to work alongside DS Karen Hobson to assist the Rahman family and establish why someone would wish to murder Saif.

Jenn is then formally presented to the team, and they immediately undertake a full-scale inquiry to establish any leads.

Jenn learns that Saif was involved in a relationship that his mother was unaware of. Jenn learns that Saif got involved in a fight outside a new nightclub in town after a group of men began harassing him and his girlfriend.

Although he is a good young boxer, postmortem examination revealed that he had been assaulted with a blunt item, such as a baseball bat.

Police seize surveillance footage from outside the club and identify Jordan Rooney among the crowd. They uncover a bat in his flat during their raid to bring Jordan into the station.
