His abilities and powers are genuinely remarkable, and he has shown throughout the series that he can overcome virtually every challenge he faces. The battle with Gojo shows, however, that Sukuna is not indestructible; he may be outmanoeuvred and defeated.
But that’s another issue altogether. Our focus is currently on Sukuna’s abilities and strengths. Sukuna is the most powerful cursed spirit in history and an evil S-class cursed spirit.
Sukuna is an extremely potent entity, widely recognized as the unchallengeable King of Curses. He woke up in Shibuya, where his enemies were rendered nearly useless. Satoru was well aware of Sukuna’s strength and the difficulty of defeating him, yet he persisted in thinking he could do it nevertheless.
Because of how few people, even among the S-classes, can match Sukuna’s strength, Satoru is one of the few persons we know who can defeat him. When the series’ timeline shifted, Sukuna evolved into the most powerful curse yet.
He is one of the greatest at close-quarters combat in the series and is extremely adept with weaponry, even if he rarely employs them. In addition, he is one of the most perilous characters because he is one of the most intelligent in the show.
But his jujutsu skillset is particularly intriguing because of its focus on cursed energy. Sukuna is an S-Class curse that has a tremendous amount of Cursed Energy. He was nearly impossible to defeat because he never showed signs of exhaustion despite repeatedly using his skills in combat.
Because of his expertise in controlling cursed energy, his Domain is among the most potent in the series and can even compete with Gojo’s. This is evidenced by his mastery of the Reverse Cursed Technique and the Domain Expansion.
The most recent confrontation between him and Gojo shows that he is one of the strongest characters of this type.

Sukuna’s versatility is plain to notice. He’s equally at home with a sword or a fist, and equally adept at jujitsu. In addition to having access to the Reverse Cursed Technique, which grants him formidable defensive capabilities, his Malevolent Shrine is among the strongest and most menacing Domains in the series.
This is why everyone else in the story is afraid of Sukuna and avoids confrontation with him, except Gojo, who has always been certain of his ability to win any combat between the two.
While Sukuna undoubtedly possesses a wide variety of techniques, the “Black Box” technique is what we are most interested in for this study. Fans of the show have given this method a more specific moniker, comparing it to a black box, which is not its official term.
This could be the actual name for the technique in the future if Akutami decides to give it one, but given how careless Akutami can be with mythology sometimes, we may never find out.
