Marvel fans are having difficulty finding Spider-Man on Disney+.
The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is known as the collection of movies made in connection with Marvel and Walt Disney Studios’ release schedule, but some MCU movies have been released by other studios.
Disney and Sony
After buying Marvel Entertainment in 2009, Disney outsourced its films and gave other studios the film rights to particular characters. This included giving 20th Century Fox the X-men and Sony Spider-Man. Yet many fans were excited when Disney and Sony joined forces to allow Spider-Man back into the Marvel Cinematic Universe via Captain America: Civil War.
Disney had previously licensed Spider-Man to Sony for five more films, but in early 2019, the two company’s announced Disney would stream Spider-man on their own streaming service. We hope that Spider-Man: No Way Home will be made for Disney+ by 2021 so it can premiere in 2022.
