School Spirits Season 2: Is It Officially Renewed Or Not? All You Need To Know

On Paramount+, you can now watch all of the episodes from the first season of School Spirits. We won’t tell you what happens in the last episode, “Madison’s Body,” but we will say that it will make you want to see more of this series.

Since Maddie Nears woke up in the boiler room of Split River High without knowing how she got there, we’ve been on this murder mystery ride with her. She and her friends have been trying to figure out what happened to her for eight shows. Most people in town thought she had run away or gone missing, but her best friend Simon could see her ghost.

It was a strange and sad accident that led to moments of closure and exciting reveals that kept us on the edge of our seats every week. The big question now, besides what will happen next, is whether or not there will be a second season of the show. What do we know?

School Spirits Season 2: Renewal Status

We’re still waiting for renewal. Since the last episode just came out, it could be a while before Paramount+ tells us if School Spirits have been canceled or extended. It could take a few weeks to a few months to hear more about this, so we might have to wait.

If the show is renewed, we can probably expect most of the cast to return since we were in the middle of a shocking reveal that took the story differently.

What Are ‘School Spirits’ About?

School Spirits is about a girl named Maddie, played by Peyton List, who dies and wakes up in the afterlife at her high school. She doesn’t remember how she died, but strange things happened around when she did. There, she meets a group of dead people who also died at Split High School and are now stuck between life and death.

Oliver Goldstick is in charge of the show. He is best known for running Pretty Little Liars and High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. He has also worked on Ravenswood and Ugly Betty. Nate Trinrud and Megan Trinrud are executive producers and cocreators of School Spirits, along with Oliver.

“It’s going to sound a little bit like word soup because we got ideas from so many different places,” Nate Trinrud, one of the show’s co-creators, told J-14. “But of course, the John Hughes movies like The Breakfast Club and Ghost, which came out in the 1990s, greatly influenced us. It’s one of my all-time favorite movies. Then, great shows like Veronica Mars definitely influenced what we wanted to do.”
