Much like the Google Pixel series, the Nothing Phone 2a is reportedly a more affordable option than the Phone 2, with the “a” edition targeting the low-income market. But the Phone 2a will probably cost less than 400 euros ($440) for Nothing, which makes it less expensive than the new Pixel 7a.
Nothing has reduced the device’s specifications to appeal to the cheaper price point. It will also have fewer glyph lights. There is also a rework of the camera configuration.
Nothing Phone 2a Rumored Release Date
Nothing Phone 2a is expected to launch on February 27, 2024, in Barcelona at Mobile World Congress 2024. Even though Nothing is the source of the news, it might be a separate product, and the Phone 2a might be released later. Phone 2a’s debut during the event is probably due to the timing of the announcement, which followed several significant leaks.
CEO of Nothing Carl Pei has acknowledged the existence of a new phone in an official X post (previously tweeted). This means that the company’s MWC 2024 presentation will feature the Nothing Phone 2a, also known as Aerodactyl.

Nothing Phone 2a Design & Display
Current rumors indicate that the Nothing Phone 2a will have a 6.7-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED screen with a center punch-hole design and a refresh rate of 120Hz. According to rumors, the device’s front will resemble that of the Nothing Phone (2) virtually exactly.
It’s unclear if the display panel in the Phone (2) will be the same as the one in the Nothing Phone (2), as the latter has an LTPO screen, which costs more. There are rumors that the Phone 2a is a mid-range phone that can compete with the Pixel 7a and the Moto G series. It is likely to have a regular OLED panel. Take a peek at the gadget, which recently surfaced online veiled in a PVT case:
The Nothing Phone (2a) will probably look like its more expensive siblings up front, but to differentiate it from the flagship Phone 2 and Phone 1, the business is giving it a distinctive back design.
Leaks originally discovered and published by Dylan Roussel on X (formerly Twitter) indicate that the Phone 2a will sport a revamped rear with three glyph lights surrounding the spherical camera module. This is a substantial decrease from the Phone 2’s glyph light count. But fear not—all of the features seen on the current Nothing phones—such as the timer, music visualizer, progress meter, and more—will be present.
Nothing Phone 2a Specs
Not much is known about the Phone 2a’s specifications. According to earlier leaks, there will be two RAM and storage options for the device: 8+128 GB and 12+256 GB. The only color options, like the rest of the Nothing collection, are going to be white and black.
Additionally, the company is switching to the less expensive Dimensity 7200 processor from the more potent Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 seen on the Phone 2. This will enable it to maintain its under-€400 ($440) price tag.
A leaked render of the smartphone appeared on the Chinese social media platform Weibo, revealing a horizontal camera arrangement like that of the Samsung Galaxy S10 model. The gadget has a simple, minimalistic appearance that is perfectly in line with the Nothing design philosophy.
Here’s a list of all the expected specs we know so far:

Processor | Mediatek Dimensity 7200 |
RAM | 8, 12 GB |
Storage | 128, 256 GB |

Nothing Phone 2a Prices
The next Nothing Phone 2a will have very affordable pricing. This phone will probably cost less than $440, even if the Pixel “a” series aims to sell devices for between $450 and $500. The 8 GB RAM and 128 GB model should retail for approximately $400 or a little less. The variant with 12 GB RAM and 256 GB of storage can cost a little bit extra, topping out at $450–470.
The pricing is only based on our conjectures, and Nothing has not yet verified any of this. We will have to wait a few more weeks to learn additional specifics about the gadget.
