A user on the online site 4chan may have leaked information about the successor to the Nintendo Switch. This seems to have happened out of the blue. The leaker says that the name of the new system will be Nintendo Switch Wonder. So, it looks like it will replace the current hybrid handheld game system.

But what else about this mysterious method has been found out? The leaker has revealed the price, features, and release date are said to be. Let’s look at the facts and see if this story might be true.

What Can We Expect in Nintendo Wonder?

A Reddit user posted about Nintendo’s next project and shared some expected specs and prices detailed in the form of leaks. You can see that Reddit post below:

The following is a summary of all that was discussed in the leak:

  • Model variants: 64 GB, 256 GB
  • Camera: Yes, two; one on the front other on the back
  • Joycons: Yes, features Hall effect thumbsticks. Also features a magnetic mechanism to snap onto the display unit’s sides
  • Display: OLED screen with touch input, 900p resolution
  • Pricing: $400 (64 GB). $500 (256 GB, also includes Super Mario Wonder as a pack-in game)
  • Dock: Yes, features built-in hardware

The display is better than the current model, which players may have noticed, but the numbers for the dock are surprising. The leak says that the planned sidescrolling platformer Super Mario Wonder will be Nintendo’s first 4K game. Not scaled up, but made for 4K.

If you take things at face value, this sounds like a big improvement over the present model. It is said to be compatible with current Nintendo Switch game cartridges. After verifying the game, it seems to download more private copies. Not like a next-gen update for last-gen games on PS5 or Xbox Series X|S.

The cams are interesting because they haven’t been a big part of the Nintendo Switch so far. The dock is also a great thing. It looks like people can use the dock without the Switch Wonder. But this will only be used for media, like looking around the Nintendo eShop or watching shows on Hulu.

There may also be a new Pro Controller that has a tablet built in. And if that wasn’t enough, the Switch Wonder can also talk wirelessly to the dock. All this is exciting talk if the leak is true, with some others in the past hyping the player base. People say that the Nintendo Switch’s replacement will come out on October 20, 2023.

How Real Is This Most Recent Leak?

In some ways, the news sounds like it could be true, but it’s also a bit of a stretch. For one thing, a more powerful follow-up would almost certainly cost between $400 and $500. But this leak seems to be based on the fact that Nintendo filed a title for “NSW” in 2022.

This and the name tag from the future Super Mario Bros. Wonder might be how the leaker came up with the name Nintendo Switch Wonder. Yuyu has posted about the Super Mario Bros. Wonder.

The October 2023 date also seems strange. That’s because today is the day the long-awaited 2D Mario game comes out. It’s interesting that Nintendo has said they haven’t thought about this year’s new gear. That’s not to say there won’t be one. But its sales and other numbers won’t count for this calendar year.

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Leaks

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Pokemon Scarlet & Violet are two games that are said to get better speed and graphics. The loading time for the first one goes down, and it’s almost gone when going from the open world to the dungeons. In the past, there have been leaks about the latter, and the leaker was right about the DLC material. Centro Leaks shared a Tweet with Pokemon Scarlet & Violet Leaks.

Check out their full Tweet below:

NEW LEAK

The person who accurately leaked the entire DLC announcement this week is back with more information

– Some Pokémon will gain special Terastal forms
– The new Switch model is actually a next-gen console, the succesor, not a revision
– There will be a second DLC in 2024 pic.twitter.com/ICKE0oohqo

— Centro LEAKS (@CentroLeaks) March 1, 2023

The person who leaked the Pokemon DLC also said that the new model and the second part of the update will both come out next year. This right away disproves the October 2023 date. So, we’ll have to wait and see how things go in the near future.
