‘Nine Perfect Strangers is a comedy series that follows nine people on their journey to a health-and-wellness resort with the potential to transform their lives.
The resort is run by Masha Dmitrichenko, its founder, who has a special rapport with each of them. During a ten-day retreat, the guests discover secrets about one another and discover that nothing is as it appears. The show is based on Liane Moriarty’s eponymous 2018 novel.
Given the show’s star-studded cast, it fell short of impressing the critics, who expected more from the plot and execution. However, it appeared to have a more positive reception from viewers, who lauded the performances and the compelling storyline.
The show was produced by John-Henry Butterworth and David E. Kelley and premiered in August 2021. If you’re wondering whether a second edition is possible, here’s everything you need to know!
Nine Perfect Strangers Season 2 Release Date
At the moment, Hulu has not indicated if it will renew “Nine Perfect Strangers,” so a release date is much too early.
At this point, all we can do is make an educated guess based on the first season’s production timeline — although, given that Season 1’s filming was impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic (as is the case with the majority of television shows these days), the timeline for Season 2 would almost certainly look quite different.
According to director Jonathan Levine, Season 1 was relocated from Los Angeles to Byron Bay, Australia. Production started on August 10, 2020, and concluded on December 21, 2020 (as confirmed by Nicole Kidman on Instagram), lasting four months in total.

It eventually made its Hulu debut on August 18, 2021. That is about a year from the start of production to the premiere. Given that timeframe, Season 2 of “Nine Perfect Strangers” would not air until at least one year after Hulu approves it.
Nine Perfect Strangers Season 2 Plot
“Nine Perfect Strangers” was initially conceived as a Hulu limited series. It is based on Australian novelist Liane Moriarty’s book of the same name.
That does not exclude the potential of a second season – Nicole Kidman and David E. Kelley’s last collaboration, “Big Little Lies,” was similarly conceived as a one-off (and was based on a book by Moriarty) was ultimately renewed by HBO for a second season.
However, if “Nine Perfect Strangers” were to return, it would lack source material.
Jonathan Levine does have ideas for a second season, should one occur. The program would evolve into an anthology if the filmmaker had his way. “I’m hoping that enough people appreciate it that Season 2 becomes a possibility.

I’m sure I can see where it might go in a second season, “Levine said. “One thing I thought would be nice is if you could recruit another set of nine members.
One of them would be a celebrity portraying themself. I’d want folks to desire more. Then it’s a matter of convincing [David E. Kelley, the series creator], as well as Nicole [Kidman].”
Thus, it seems as if “Nine Perfect Strangers” Season 2 will introduce a whole new cast of strangers with entirely new concerns. However, it is unknown who those strangers are and their difficulties.
