At the conclusion of the first season of My Unorthodox Life, star Julia Haart makes a toast at the head of her family dinner. “I believe that we are a very unusual and common bunch of individuals,” she observes a table of her friends and relatives. “The bonds we’ve forged have endured the test of faith, geography, and conflict, and look at where we are now. We’re seated here together and bonded, despite our stark differences.”
The speech encapsulates much of what the first season of My Unorthodox Life sought to convey: how Haart’s decision to leave her ultra-Orthodox Jewish community at the age of 42 and enter the secular world, eventually rising to the position of CEO of Elite World Group, has impacted her career, family, and worldview. Now, it’s been confirmed that the Haart clan will return for a second season, which will almost certainly include all of the ritzy fun from the first nine episodes (think: trips to Paris Fashion Week, designer clothing, and yacht parties) as well as additional discussions about religion, feminism, and personal freedom. Here is all we currently know about season 2.

When will My Unorthodox Life Season 2 be released?
“My Unorthodox Life” received a mixed review upon its premiere. While some lauded Julia Haart for her courage in sharing her tale, others chastised her for villainizing the Jewish community at a time when hate crimes were on the rise (per CNET).
Despite the outcry, “My Unorthodox Life” has been renewed for a second season, scheduled to premiere in September 2021. (per Variety). Haart spoke on EDaily !’s Pop to discuss Season 2 plans. “People became quite intrigued about our lives,” Haart explained (as reported by E! News). “I thrive on ongoing change and evolution, and Season 2 is no exception.”
Given Netflix’s scheduling for reality series, Season 2 of “My Unorthodox Life” is anticipated to follow a similar filming schedule to Season 1. Given that Season 1 premiered in the summer of 2021, many anticipate that Season 2 will debut in the summer of 2022. (per Oprah Daily).
My Unorthodox Life Season 2 Cast: The cast is expected to reprise their roles.
While Haart is the show’s focal point, she is surrounded by a sizable supporting cast. Haart has four children with her ex-husband, Yosef Hendler, whom she married in a planned ceremony when she was 19 years old.
Batsheva, her eldest child, is a TikTok influencer who married Binyamin Weinstein at the age of 19. Shlomo, Haart’s second kid, is a Columbia graduate pursuing a career in law. Miriam, her third child, is a Stanford student studying software engineering. Silvio Scaglia Haart, Haart’s husband, also appears on the show. “We are both really self-sufficient, strong-willed individuals, and he adores my independence,” Haart said of her relationship with the Italian billionaire. Finally, Haart’s Elite World Group colleagues are profiled, notably her right-hand man Robert Brotherton, Elite’s Chief Operating Officer.
Are there spoilers for My Unorthodox Life Season 2?
Season 2 will focus on “fashion, family, female empowerment, spirituality, fabulousness, and, of course, Haart,” according to Netflix. However, nothing juicier has yet to leak, most likely because filming has not concluded. Naturally, the ongoings at Elite will continue to be a part of the show, as will the spats, disputes, embracing, and making up that all families experience. Haart may even divulge additional details about the conservative community from which she departed.
What is the plot of My Unorthodox Life Season 2?
Julia Haart had a supportive husband, a flourishing career, and children Batsheva, Shlomo, Miriam, and Aron, whom she shares with ex-husband Yosef Handler in Season 1 of My Unorthodox Life. She remains a proud Jewish woman but lives a very secular existence.
Shortly after the renewal news was announced, the fashion executive appeared as a guest on the Ellen DeGeneres Show and discussed the show’s premise. “There are so many women who have been told they are less than, that they must wait their turn, and that they must be polite, and I thought, ‘Here is a tale about a crazy woman who picked herself up at the age of 43 and altered her life.’ I hope it serves as an inspiration and a source of strength for others to follow suit.”
Following the recent turmoil between Haart and her two-year spouse, Silvio Scaglia, and their subsequent breakup, people are eagerly anticipating season two. Haart reportedly requested a restraining order against estranged spouse Silvio following her termination from Elite World Group, the fashion company where she was appointed co-CEO in 2019. Their romance was chronicled in My Unorthodox Life’s first season. Batsheva Haart and Ben Weinstein, Haart’s daughter, also ended their relationship in 2021 after nine years of marriage. Season 2 will “include further fashion, family, female empowerment, spirituality, fabulousness, and, of course, Haart,” according to a Netflix press release.

Julia Haart’s Season 2 Remarks
“There are a lot of surprises in season 2,” the mother of four teased to E! News in October 2021, noting that viewers have been very interested in learning about her past life. “I get questions all the time: ’Did you watch TV, did you not watch TV? Did you read a book, did you not read a book?’ What they don’t understand is that it is a world where your destiny is defined by your biology. That’s what it is. As a woman, you’re told that every woman’s place is the same; Every man’s place in life is the same.”
Will season 2 be able to solve the criticism of Season 1?
Following the broadcast of My Unorthodox Life’s first season, some Orthodox and Ultra-Orthodox women spoke out against Haart’s notion that women in these communities are repressed and forced to live solely as husbands and mothers.
“My main motivation for sharing my personal tale is to raise awareness about an undoubtedly restrictive society in which women are denied the same chances as males,” she told the Times. “That is why my future book and season 2 of my show will continue to capture my personal story, in the hope that it will inspire other women to fight for their inalienable right to freedom.” The issue is still a possibility for Season 2, as Haart has addressed it in a number of interviews since the show’s premiere.
When asked how she navigates these arguments in the midst of rising anti-Semitism, she told ELLE.com, “My concern is that no man, country, ideology, or religion should tell women who they are or what they are.” They must intend to do so; else, they are sinners and monstrous.” It is not a matter of God. This is unrelated to Judaism. This is purely a matter of fundamentalism.”
