A lifelong resident of Illinois, James King was described as a loving husband, son, brother, and poppy to his grandchildren in an obituary posted on the Milner and Orr Funeral Home website.
My 600-lb Life’s James King passed away on Feb. 25, 2019, according to an obituary published in the Reno Gazette-Journal. At the time of his appearance on Dr. Nowzaradan’s show in 2014, King was bedridden and determined to make a change. After another episode in 2018, where he weighed 840 pounds at the time of filming, So far, seven cast members of My 600-lb Life have died while the series has aired.

The TLC alum is survived by his wife Lisa Raisor King, his four daughters, two sons, and 19 grandchildren. Due to the current health crisis going on, funeral arrangements will be private for the family.
