Masterpiece PBS has confirmed that the program will return for a second season.
A+E Networks International originally aired the show. A+E canceled the project following the first season, but supporters need not fear. Masterpiece confirmed the show’s renewal in March 2021, and on Wednesday, they announced that filming had officially commenced. Masterpiece and Element 8 Entertainment will now collaborate on production.
“It’s as if no time has passed at all,” Kate Phillips stated in a news release issued Wednesday. “We’ve reverted to the classic Duke and Eliza relationship. If anything, it feels more vibrant and fun than ever before. I’m looking forward to showing it to our MASTERPIECE audience.”
“I’m overjoyed to be back in Duke’s bowler hat and boots, strutting through the streets of London alongside Kate,” Stuart Martin stated in the release.
“Returning to this rich, lovely world and the characters Rachael has created, surrounded by this incredible team, is like coming home. I’m excited for our MASTERPIECE family and fans to see where Eliza and Duke go next and who they meet.”

‘The Duke and Miss Scarlet’ Season 1 began on PBS on January 17, 2021, at 8:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. It is divided into six episodes, each lasting 60 minutes. The show premiered in the UK on March 31, 2020, on Alibi, before its release in the United States.

Who Could Be in Miss Scarlet and The Duke Season 2?
Eliza Scarlet, the protagonist, is thought unsuited for a detective post, but she is determined to prove everyone wrong. Kate Phillips portrays her well. Stuart Martin portrays William “The Duke” Wellington, a Scottish lawman and Eliza’s childhood friend devoted to his vocation without reservation.
Ivy, the Scarlet family’s housekeeper, is privy to Eliza’s mind and moods, as played by Cathy Belton. Andrew Gower portrays Rupert Parker, Eliza’s buddy, who appears to be unusual like her.

What Could Miss Scarlet and The Duke Season 2 Plot Be About?
The Season 1 finale reveals that Henry Scarlet’s death was a homicide. William is on the prowl for the killer, and one of his suspects is Moses. Moses later appears at Eliza’s residence and denies murdering Henry.
William discovers disturbing evidence that points to Frank, who eventually confesses to murdering Eliza’s father. Frank kidnaps both Eliza and William. They are eventually interrupted by Moses, who ultimately saves their lives.
Season 2 may reveal additional insight on Moses, given that he has been confirmed as a good guy. His dynamic with Eliza can develop into friendship since he may begin actively supporting her in solving crimes. Similarly, the upcoming season will likely feature an array of new adventures.
It might also contain Eliza’s personal life, particularly her relationship with William, which is certainly worth exploring. The pair maintained a friendship throughout the first season that may or may not develop into more. We’ll have to wait till season 2 to find out!
