Mama June’s Early Life
June Thompson, also known as June Edith “Mama June” Shannon, was born on August 10, 1979 in McIntyre, Georgia. At the age of two, her parents, Sandra Hundley and Marvin Shannon, divorced. James Edward Shannon, Joanne Shannon, and Joanie Shannon (now McDonald) are her siblings, whereas Michelle Shannon and Nicole Shannon are her half-siblings. Throughout her childhood, she battled cataracts. June developed legal blindness as a result of untreated cataracts.
