Streaming service Netflix has announced a release date for its highly anticipated three-part documentary on Kanye West, as well as the release of the first teaser trailer for the film.
Jeen-Yuhs is a documentary film made by Coodie & Chike in 2022 about the life of Kanye West, a singer, record producer, businessman, and fashion designer who is most known for his work on the album Yeezus.
In 2022, the Sundance Film Festival will screen Act I, broken into three acts. Act I will premiere on January 23, 2022, during the Sundance Film Festival. According to the company, the documentary will be published on Netflix on February 16, 2022.
Jeen-yuh: Kanye Trilogy, a new documentary film series launching on Netflix in weekly portions on February 16, has numerous hours of previously unseen video and access to Ye’s personal life as well as his professional life.
Director Coodie Simmons and producer Chike Ozah (ESPN 30 for 30’s Benji and the “Jesus Walks” music video) filmed and edited the trilogy over 20 years. The films are divided into three parts: Vision, Purpose, and Awakening.
Rather than focusing on West’s early years as a rising Chicago rap producer, the films follow him as he establishes his voice as a rapper and achieves international recognition.
