The final episode of Season 3 of The Mandalorian didn’t have as many cameos as some people had hoped, but it still gave us a lot to think about. What happened to Moff Gideon, for one thing? Even though it seems clear, Star Wars can always throw us a curveball, so let’s look at what happens to Moff Gideon in The Mandalorian Season 3 finale.
Is Moff Gideon Dead On The Mandalorian?
Let’s take a step back. At the end of The Mandalorian Season 3 Episode 7, Moff Gideon made a shocking return. In Episode 8, Din Djarin and Grogu set out to beat the Imperial warlord for good. They get through the Empire base with the help of Din’s R5 unit and meet Gideon and his new armor, which is powered by hydraulics and strengthened with beskar.
This fight takes up most of the episode, while in the background, the rest of the Mandalorians fight Gideon’s men with jetpacks. Bo-Katan Kryze comes to even the odds after Gideon sends his Praetorian Guards after Baby Yoda. Moff Gideon is killed when Bo, Din, and Grogu work together, but that doesn’t seem enough. Lucky for them, they are not alone.
Axe Woves is flying his ship straight toward the Imperial base over Mandalore. Everyone else leaves except for Bo, Din, Grogu, and Gideon. Grogu makes a Force wall to protect himself and his friends as the building goes up in flames. As for Moff Gideon, we can see that the blast kills him.
One way to look at it, this seems pretty straightforward. Moff Gideon died by fire. He has died. But, on the other hand, maybe not.
Why Moff Gideon Is Still Alive?
In a series like Star Wars, no one is really dead. The Emperor came back from the dead, so why not Moff Gideon? Plus, we didn’t really see the end of his life. We just saw his beskar armor go up in flames. So it’s possible that he did manage to stay alive, but The Mandalorian didn’t show it.
Clones are another thing to think about. In this episode of The Mandalorian, Mando blew up a room full of Gideon clones. Is there more hidden away on another planet? Maybe one of these clones can finish what Moff Gideon was trying to do.
Since The Mandalorian Season 3 finished on such a vague note, anything could happen. However, the Mandalorian Season 4 might not come out long. So we might not know what really happened to Moff Gideon for a long time.
Is There A Mandalorian End-Credit Scene For Season 3?
Not at all. Din Djarin and Din Grogu get their own cabin on a piece of land on Navarro as the third season of The Mandalorian comes to a close (can someone explain Mandalorian names, please?). They’ll stay between jobs for their new company, the New Republic, which won’t appear on any tax forms. Carson Teva, a pilot for the Republic played by Paul Sun-Hyung Lee, was offered a deal by Djarin. For a fee, he would hunt down and kill any other remaining Imperials.
It’s a cozy last shot showing how this father and son are finally happy in their home. It’s so cozy that they get a circle wipe to black, like in Looney Tunes. Things are looking up for these two for the first time in a long time.

Is It Possible For Moff Gideon To Make A Comeback?
Even though we don’t see him die in the end, that’s it for this version of Moff Gideon.
But during Season 3, we discovered that he had made clones of himself with the Force in them. In the middle of Episode 8, these clones are killed. But clones are great because you can create as many as you want.
So, even though Moff Gideon is dead for now, don’t rule out the possibility that he has a clone or clone somewhere else in the galaxy, ready to show up in a future season of The Mandalorian.
