The Marvel cinematic universe is one of the most successful movie franchises of all time. It is possibly the most successful. The box-office collections of this series are definitely the highest of all time. The first movie Iron Man came out in 2008, and since then, Marvel has made a great movie after great movie. All those efforts came together for Avenger: Endgame, the highest-grossing movie of all time.

But after Endgame, fans were left wondering if they would see many Marvel movies after this. Doctor Strange has only been a major part of two movies: Doctor Strange and Avengers: Infinity War. Fans have yet to see The Sorcerer Supreme at the peak of his powers.

The title of the new movie is “Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness”. The name in itself is exciting many fans as it builds a lot of mystery. Recently, Marvel pushed back the release date of the movie by 4 months due to the Coronavirus pandemic. As things stand, the official release date for the sequel is 25 March 2022. Sam Raimi will be directing the movie.

 Nightmare To Be The Villain

The title is leading to a lot of speculation from the fans. While the creators have not confirmed the villain, the fact that the multiverse is in play is leading fans to think that the villain will be Nightmare. Nightmare has been part of the Marvel comics for decades and has been a big enemy of Doctor Strange. Many fans do not know much about him because nobody has mentioned him in the movies before.

Nightmare is a terrifying ruler of a realm in the Dream Dimension. The most dangerous part about him is that he can be defeated, but never destroyed. As long as people have dreams, he will live. He has a large cult following, who are dedicated to serving at his command. While Nightmare will certainly be a very dangerous villain, fans are hoping for a different villain.

Doctor Strange 2: Madness-Bit Shuma-Gorath Would Be Better

The possibilities with Doctor Strange 2 are endless. The creators have a large pool of terrifying villains to choose from. Nightmare is a strong foe, but one can envision that Doctor Strange could easily defeat him. A stronger villain would be Shuma-Gorath.

Shuma-Gorath is a lord of chaos and his existence pre-dates the universe. He ruled many dimensions before man came around, and Earth was one of his lands. In the comics, the battle between Doctor Strange and Shuma-Gorath is one of the greatest ever. Shuma-Gorath is one of the strongest entities. During the battle, Doctor Strange was very close to losing and dying many times. In fact, Doctor Strange had to sacrifice the Ancient One to do defeat the villain.

Shuma-Gorath is definitely a villain that Marvel should consider. Fans will simply have to wait for confirmation.
