Once Starfield changes are made available, the internet will go crazy. The release of Skyrim triggered a deluge of fan-made content, from unofficial fixes and user interface overhauls to additional weapon sets, spells, and companions, all within a matter of days.
Imagine what can be done with over a thousand planets and numerous Starfield locales by the same modding community that gave us massively expanded quest lines, brand-new regions, and even remakes of other Elder Scrolls games. Can we expect updated Starfield factions, weapon sets, and ship varieties? How well Creation Engine 2 mods are supported remains to be seen.
Xbox Starfield Mods
Whether Bethesda will officially announce that Starfield will have mod support on Xbox One X and XS is up in the air, but there are encouraging indicators. On the Starfield Reddit, Todd Howard stated that mods would be supported on PC and that Starfield would be “a dream” for the modding community.
There is a substantial precedence for Bethesda to include mod support in Starfield, given their past games (including massive campaigns like Fallout 4 and Skyrim: Special Edition) have done so on consoles.
Here is a tweet about Starfield Xbox support mode
It won’t be a patch it would be mod from the modding community. Starfield has mod support and xbox supports mods just like with elder scrolls 1400p/60 mod

What Is The Plan For Starfield Mod Support?
Fortunately, Bethesda plans to support Starfield mods like they supported mods for their past games, as revealed by Todd Howard himself in an AMA on Reddit in November 2021. It’s been 20 years since we first welcomed modders. We appreciate what they’re doing and wish more people would make a living doing the same.
You may expect a flood of reskins, texture swaps, settings changes, and even more ambitious projects in the months and years after Starfield’s debut.
Will Starfield Nexus Mods Be Available in Future?
Nexus Mods and similar third-party mod hosting sites have become increasingly popular destinations for players seeking to acquire and install mods. A modding server, modding forums, a modding wiki, and a Starfield section of the leading site have all been announced as part of the site’s preparations for the Starfield release.
It’s interesting to note that the Starfield Discord server already has plans for a community patch to solve early difficulties, glitches, and inconveniences.
Even more surprisingly, a patch for Starfield appeared before its official release date, renaming it from “Unofficial Starfield Patch” to “Starfield Community Patch.” This update is “a collective effort by mod authors and the wider player community of Starfield to fix bugs, errors, and other inconsistencies present in the game.”
Although this mod has not yet been made available, we will probably suggest it once it becomes available shortly after the Starfield launch.
Gamers reacting on Twitter about starfield nexus mods:
Not gonna play Starfield until it’s been simmering in the Nexus mods and LL crockpot for a year or two.

What Starfield Mods Will We See?
Modders have a long and fruitful history of enhancing The Elder Scrolls and Fallout with everything from minor adjustments to total remakes. While we have yet to see Starfield in its entirety, here are a few things we expect to see in future mods:
- More towns and cities because a thousand planets aren’t enough
- Updated clothing and protection options
- Different types of ships and updated parts
- Customized objectives and NPCs
- So, how about cooperative play? While Bethesda hasn’t officially announced multiplayer or cooperative play for Starfield, it wouldn’t be the first time modders have added such features.
Unfortunately, the community’s plans and publishing intentions won’t be known until Starfield has been released. So until then, you should check out the Starfield character and ship customization possibilities as they stand before being extensively overhauled by modders.
