Colt McCoy is about to start for the Arizona Cardinals for the second week in a row. The NFL season is about to start tonight in Mexico City.
NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport said Monday morning that it looks like McCoy will start against the San Francisco 49ers, according to people who know about the situation. This is because Kyler Murray is still hurting his hamstring and can’t play.
Murray would miss his second game in a row because he didn’t get enough practice time. McCoy’s knee injury kept him from practicing as much early in the week, but he’s good to go now and wasn’t listed on the final injury report.
Last week, the 36-year-old quarterback led a steady offense to a 27-17 win over the Los Angeles Rams without Matthew Stafford. He completed 26 of 27 passes for 238 yards and a touchdown. On Monday night, though, he will be up against one of the best defenses in the NFL and an offense that will be ready to go in Mexico City.
