Glyn Geoffrey Ellis, 74 the Mind Benders, front man passed away at Stockport Stepping Hill hospital. He was popularly known as Wayne Fontana. Geoffrey Ellis took his stage name from the Elvis Presley drummer DJ Fontana.
Fonatan and the mind benders were part of the Beatles driven “british invasion of the U.S by British pop bands. They topped the chart with the slightly retitled game of love.”

‘Game of Love’ is one of his all time hits. A family representative informed about his death. He said, “on behalf of the family of Wayne Fontana regret to announce he passed away this afternoon at stepping hill hospital, stockport.
His long term partner was by his side. Known for his 1965 hit Game of Love. Family asked for privacy at this time.”
The Mind Bender rockstar found fame in the year 1964. He is a house name for an icon of the 60s both friends and fans expressed their grievances and paid their tribute.
DJ Tony Blackburn, 77 penned in his Twitter, “So sorry to hear about the passing of great 60s icon Wayne Fontana yesterday…

He was a lovely guy and gave us some great songs. As Sounds Of The 60s has been recorded already for tomorrow we will do a tribute in Saturday week’s show.”
It is a painful moment as another rock and roll legend of the 60s bid us a goodbye.
Wayne Fontana: Legal Embroilments
Wayne was embroiled in legal troubles in 2007. His locking up in a shock battle with HM Revenue and Customs shocked the whole world. He was also called as victim of an establishment conspiracy.

The judge was not in favour of letting free the troubled singer free. Fontana had faced 14 years in prison but was eventually set free after serving 11 months.

Wayne, was diagnosed with paranoid illness and depression. Fontana has served his term under the Mental Health Act as well. His constant paranoid and aggressive behavior shown, when he set fire to a car owned by a bailiff and lit the man inside the car.
The doctor’s later confirmed that he was no longer to himself or others.
