We’re used to seeing two distinct characters paired together in anime since they may make for a unique partnership. When it comes to certain romantic comedy anime programs, the idea of two distinct characters uniting is enhanced by the slow burn love path taken by the two.
It’s a route that often advances slowly, as two heroes gradually come to terms with their true love for one another, despite their friends, coworkers, and family continually yelling along with the audience about how evident those sentiments are.
Fortunately, for a series like “Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out!” that is heavy on comic moments, fans have no issue with the protagonists taking their sweet time figuring out their emotions, as long as they can laugh along the way.
Take’s original manga series, about a lonely introvert called Shinichi and his loud classmate Hana, who wishes to brighten his life in her own exuberant and unpleasant manner, premiered in 2017.
It was just a matter of time until the series was converted into an anime premiered in 2020. Fans didn’t have to wait long to learn if the series would continue beyond its first season since a teaser confirming the continuation was posted immediately after the end.
With an official release date confirmed, here is all we currently know about “Uzaki-chan Want to Hang Out!” Season 2.
Uzaki Chan Season 2 Release Date
“Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out!” premiered on July 10, 2020, but with only 12 episodes, viewers want to see more of Hana’s slice-of-life antics with Shinichi.
Fortunately, the series has been renewed for a second season, although fans will have to wait a little while longer. Funimation said on Twitter that the second season is presently set for release in 2022.
While Funimation did not specify a specific date within that year, fans may anticipate a release around the Winter 2022 anime season, which begins in January 2022.
Otherwise, the series’s second season might follow the summer schedule established for Season 1 and debut in July 2022. While the release date for Season 2 of “Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out!” seems to be for Japanese television, this does not imply that the western audience will be left out.
Season 1 of the anime was broadcast live by Funimation in Japan. The firm tweeted about Season 2, indicating that they would likely re-stream the program whenever it begins broadcasting internationally.
Uzaki Chan Season 2 Plot
Season 1 of “Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out!” focused more on Hana and Shinichi’s everyday lives, as her efforts to get her upperclassman to abandon his loner lifestyle resulted in countless humiliating occurrences for him.
If the season finale is any indication, Season 2 may see the sitcom refocus on its romantic side. The anime series has remained faithful to the manga, with Episode 12 covering chapters 30-34, or around Volume 4.
While the manga continues to depict Shinichi’s struggle to accept the majority of Hana’s acts, the two grow much closer to accepting that their relationship is deeper than they previously believed. However, even as the two behave more like a couple, the revelation does not come easily.
In the manga, friends, relatives, and even a fortune teller all attempt to convey the most apparent truth about Hana and Shinichi’s emotions for one another and coax them together.
We don’t know how much more of the manga will be covered in Season 2, but it should have a good deal of material to work with by the time it launches. The manga is still in progress, with seven volumes published in Japan.
