We should have a firm release date soon now that we have a release window. The series was officially renewed for a second season on August 5, 2021, before releasing the two-part season 1 finale.
“Fans have passionately welcomed Star Wars: The Bad Batch’s action and drama, and we’re delighted to see the Star Wars animated universe expand on Disney+,” Michael Paull (President of Disney+ and ESPN+) told the press. Additionally, the announcement promised the show’s return for a sophomore season in 2022.

What we do know about the release date is as follows. The network has not confirmed a precise release date for the second season. Season one was announced in July 2020 and will premiere in May 2021.
Assuming the second season follows a similar production schedule, we can anticipate the premiere of ‘Star Wars: The Bad Batch’ season 2 in May 2022 at the earliest.
Who Could Be in Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 2?
Dee Bradley Baker lends her voice acting talents to ‘Star Wars: The Bad Batch,’ portraying Bad Batch characters Hunter, Wrecker, Tech, Crosshair, and Echo.
Additionally, Baker provides the voices for additional clones, including Captains Rex, Howzer, and Gregor. Michelle Ang offers Omega her voice. AZI-3, a medical robot, is voiced by Ben Diskin. Gwendoline Yeo, Rhea Perlman, and Noshir Dalal reprise their roles as Nala Se, Cid, and Vice Admiral Rampart.
Baker, Ang, Diskin, Yeo, Perlman, and Dalal are almost guaranteed to return for season 2. Numerous fan-favorite characters from the ‘Star Wars’ franchise make appearances in the first season, and their voice actors may reprise their roles for season 2, depending on the plot.
As a result, Ian McDiarmid (Emperor Palpatine/Darth Sidious), Ming-Na Wen (Fennec Shand), Vanessa Marshall (Hera Syndulla), and Corey Burton (Cad Bane) may all return for the upcoming season.

What Could the Star Wars: The Bad Batch Season 2 Plot Be About?
The season one finale of ‘Star Wars: The Bad Batch,’ titled ‘Kamino Lost,’ destroys Tipoca City and the cloning facility where Omega grew up. The Bad Batch, Omega, and Crosshair all emerge relatively undamaged from the destruction.
Crosshair, on the other hand, refuses to rejoin his former companions. Nala Se is carried to an Imperial Facility, probably a cloning research facility for the Empire.
The second season will see the Bad Batch return to Ord Mantell, their temporary home. They may continue to operate as mercenaries for Cid but must maintain a low profile.
Eventually, the gang will be drawn into the war between the Empire and the burgeoning rebels. Meanwhile, Crosshair appears to be determined to forge his path, and a return to the Empire may be in his future.
Additionally, the sophomore season can offer light on the Empire’s ambitions for Nala Se and how they benefit from her expertise in cloning. She may be instrumental in the Empire’s quest to manufacture Force-sensitive clones.
Fan favorites such as Ahsoka Tano, Boba Fett, and Kanan Jarrus may also appear, further cementing the show’s connection to the larger ‘Star Wars universe.
