According to his close friend and colleague Anupam Kher, an actor and filmmaker named Satish Kaushik died early Thursday morning after having a heart attack. He was 66.
Kher says that Kaushik was at a friend’s house in Delhi when he said he was feeling sick.
“He felt uncomfortable, so he told the driver to take him to the hospital. On the way, around 1 a.m., he had a heart attack,” Kher told PTI.
Kher tweeted earlier that Kaushik’s sudden death saddened him.
“I know that death is the ultimate truth, but I never thought I’d have to write that about my best friend, Satish Kaushik. 45 years of friendship came to an abrupt end. Without you, Satish, life will never be the same. Om Shanti, “Kher sent tweets.

Kaushik attended the National School of Drama and the Film and Television Institute of India. He was best known for his roles in movies like “Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron,” “Mr. India,” “Deewana Mastana,” and “Udta Punjab.”
Kaushik’s last tweet on his official Twitter account was a set of photos from the annual Holi celebrations held in Mumbai on March 7 and organized by the famous lyricist and writer Javed Akhtar.

Kaushik was known for how well he could time jokes. He was also a director. As a director, his most well-known movies are “Tere Naam,” which stars Salman Khan, and “Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai,” which stars Kareena Kapoor Khan and Tusshar Kapoor.
Kangana Ranaut, who worked with Kaushik on her upcoming movie “Emergency,” remembers him as a “kind and genuine man.”

Satish Kaushik is survived by his wife and daughter.
