Samsung’s Upcoming Foldable Phone

Samsung is reportedly in its works for making the next flagship foldable more accessible. Samsung will be designing its Galaxy fold in two storage configurations, according to SamMobile.  The “Galaxy Fold 2” may come with a storage option of 256GB at an affordable price. The name of the device is yet to be confirmed. Galaxy Fold 2 is the name being used in the reports.

The previous fold was released with a single storage option of 512gb costing US$1,980. The 512gb model will still be available, but just like any other phone, upon its new release sees some changes to make the device more convenient to the users. Galaxy Z Flip, which costs US$1,400, has been a hit among the users and for the Samsung.

Samsung’s New Foldable Specifications

Apart from the new variant, reports claim that we’ll be seeing a notable difference in the size of the phone. The 7.7-inch full display along with a larger cover display will compete over its original fold whose display is 7.3-inch.  This increase in the size of the new fold is planned to tackle the complaints of the users. They previously raised a concern that the galaxy fold’s cover display was simply too small. Expect to see a hole-punch cutout on the Galaxy Fold 2. This feature would make this device a lot more different than other flagships, as all the flagships settled for a front-facing camera at the notch. 5G support is also expected.

There is still a raging doubt if the Fold 2 will be more durable than its predecessor.  It is presumed that Fold 2 will feature a tough, yet tender foldable glass display. No one can confirm if this model will come with its new issues.

When to expect Samsung’s Upcoming Foldable Phone?

As per reports, no release date information has been given about Fold 2. However, SamMobile said the plans of Samsung announcing the release may come in the third quarter of this year. With COVID-19 continuing to spread fears and disrupting the economy, it is difficult to say if a summer release is possible. In the upcoming months, we will be hearing more about Fold 2.
