Dark fantasy isekai light novels by Aneko Yusagi are called The Rising of the Shield Hero. The series started out as a web novel on the Shsetsuka ni Naro site. It has since been published by Media Factory with a longer storyline and illustrations by Seira Minami. There have been twenty-two books released so far this year, on June 25, 2019.
The book series was turned into a manga series by Aiya Kyo and published by Media Factory. There have been twenty volumes out as of February 22, 2022. Novel and manga series was made by One Peace Books and were made available in North America from September 2015 to the end of the year. The 25-episode anime TV show made by Kinema Citrus aired from January to June 2019. An episode of the second season, which was co-produced by DR Movie, is set to air in April of 2022. A third season is also being planned.

To become the world’s “Cardinal Heroes,” Naofumi Iwatani, a young Japanese man, and three other young men from other universes were sent to a parallel world. They were there to fight inter-dimensional hordes of monsters known as Waves. They each had their own legendary weapons and armor when they were summoned. Naofumi got the Legendary Shield, which is the only thing that can protect you. The other heroes got a sword, a spear, and a bow, which are meant to attack. Naofumi’s luck goes downhill after his single companion, who turns out to be the princess of the kingdom, betrays him, steals all of his possessions, and leaves him without any help or supplies. She falsely accuses him of sexually assaulting her.
A now-cynical Naofumi is forced to train as a hero alone while working to make money. He buys from a slave trader a young tanuki demi-human girl named Raphtalia and an egg that turns into a bird-like monster, which he names Filo. Both quickly grow up and become powerful warriors under Naofumi’s care. Naofumi and his friends work together to carry out their mission as saviors as they unravel the mystery of the Waves and why they are a threat not only to their world but to other worlds as well. They gain the trust and gratitude of the people as they do good deeds.
Rising Of The Shield Hero Season 2 Release Date:
An anime series called The Rising of the Shield Hero is based on the light novels by Aneko Yusagi that have the same title, and it is based on anime. At this year’s Crunchyroll Expo, it was announced that the show will get a second and third season, as well. This was announced at the 2020 virtual Crunchyroll Expo. The second season of the show will start in 2021. Masato Jinbo will take over for Takao Abo as director, and the rest of the staff will keep their jobs. Kinema Citrus and DR Movie will make the movie.
During “Kadokawa Light Novel Expo 2020,” it was said that the second season would start in October 2021, but it was later moved back. On April 6, 2022, the second season will start on AT-X and other TV networks, and it will be shown then. Thirteen episodes are planned. In the opening theme, “Bring Back,” MADKID sings. The ending theme, “Yuzurenai,” is by Chiai Fujikawa and is sung by her.
Rising Of The Shield Hero Season 2 Expected Cast:
Season 2 of “The Rising of the Shield Hero” showed Naofumi and his companions embarking on new journeys. We learned a little bit more about who will be returning for Season 2 as well. Since the first season’s cast has been announced, it appears that most of them will be returning. Toshiyuki Miyamoto will direct the cast, which features Kaito Ishikawa in the role of Naofumi, Asami Seto in Raphtalia, Rina Hidaka in Filo, and Yoshitsugu Matsuoka in Ren Amaki.

Season 2 of “The Rising of the Shield Hero” hasn’t had an official plot synopsis made public yet. However, the official trailer seems to show that the new season will pick up where Season 1 left off. Glass, a hero like Naofumi from another world, came to fight Naofumi at the end of Season 1. Glass is known as “the Fan Hero.” Glass says that she thinks the Cardinal Heroes and the Waves are connected in some way. She decides to get rid of the Cardinal Heroes because she thinks that will stop the hordes of monsters and save her world in the long run. There is a good chance that we will see more of Glass in Season 2. She leaves at the end.
We may also see Naofumi going on more adventures outside of the kingdom. Naofumi was taken to a kingdom where other countries were kept from him and the other heroes at first. However, these other nations have to deal with the Waves on their own without getting any help. By the end of the first season, Naofumi has said that he’s going to leave the kingdom. We might see how the rest of this parallel world has been doing.
