On January 4, 1969, Rainer Schaller was born in Bamberg, West Germany. His brother and parents raised him in Schlüsselfeld, Upper Franconia. Schaller stayed in the ninth grade since he was a poor student.
His brother Gerd Schaller is an accomplished musician and conductor who studied medicine and music simultaneously. His personality was “uncannily” moulded by his brother’s intelligence.

Since his mother had a grocery store, Schaller started in the retail industry. In 1997, he established the first McFit exercise facility in Würzburg, Germany. Against the prevailing wellness trends, he was able to instil the discount principle in the fitness sector.

By the end of 2020, his network of firms would oversee 17 distinct brands and employ 41,000 individuals across 48 countries. To use the Love Parade to promote McFit’s studios, Schaller joined Lopavent as managing director in 2006. Lopavent ran the Love Parade until 2010.

On Saturday, October 22, 2022, a plane crash off the coast of Costa Rica resulted in the inexplicable disappearance of German businessman Rainer Schaller and his family.
Schaller, the owner and CEO of the fitness business McFit, may have been among the six persons on board a private plane when it crashed in the middle of its journey from Mexico to Limon, Costa Rica, according to local media.

Along with Schaller, his partner Christiane Schikorsky, their children Aaron Schaller and Finja Sghikorsky, and a personal trainer named Marcus Kurreck are also missing. The pilot of the aircraft was a Swiss national; his identity is yet unknown.
The Costa Rican Ministry of Public Security announced on social media on Friday that at approximately 8 p.m. ET, a plane travelling from Mexico to Costa Rica lost communication with the control tower at Juan Santamaria International Airport.
