In 2020, the PlayStation 5 will get an update called the PS5 Pro. At first, people thought this new version would be a big change and could even handle 8K games. But now, we know it’s going to focus more on making 4K games look better.
Since 2020, there haven’t been many big changes in gaming technology. This might be because the economy is doing well. When you look at how many people bought new RTX 40 series graphics cards, it’s not a lot.
Some people say these cards are too expensive. But another reason they’re not selling well is that gamers don’t have a lot of extra cash to spend on hobbies. In this article, we’re going to keep you updated on the latest news about the PS5 Pro’s update. Remember to check back here for any new information that comes out or gets leaked.
PlayStation 5 Pro Release Date
The PS5 Pro doesn’t have a set release date yet, but it might come out in late 2024. It’s expected to be shown in the summer and released around November, but these are just guesses and could change. We’ll update this page when we have more details.
There’s talk about Sony possibly releasing the PS5 Pro, but so far, it’s all speculation. Strauss Zelnick, the CEO of Take-Two Interactive, thinks the recent leaks about this updated console aren’t very important. This suggests that Sony might not be planning a big update for the PS5 soon. We’ll have to wait and see what happens.

Explaining the PlayStation 5 Pro’s Features in Easy Terms
The next PS5 Pro’s features are hard to guess. It might have a Blu-ray player you can take out, like the new PS5 Slim. The Pro might be digital-only, with the Blu-ray player as a $70 extra. This means you can choose between using discs or downloading games, unlike the current PS5 where you have to decide when you buy it and can’t change later.
What is the Price of the PS5 Pro?
The cost of the new PS5 Pro isn’t certain yet, but people think it might be between $600 and $700. This is more than what the original PS5 cost. However, when the PS4 Pro came out in 2016, it was priced at $399, which was the same price as the PS4 in 2013.
So, the PS5 Pro could end up costing around $499, which is what the PS5 with a disc drive cost when it first came out in 2020. But now, there are slimmer versions of the console available at that price. With the PS5 Pro coming soon, Sony might decide to either make a more powerful version or lower the price of their slimmer models.

What are the Specs of the PS5 Pro?
The PlayStation 5 Pro, also called “Project Trinity,” will have much better graphics than the original PlayStation 5 from 2020. It’s expected to have a new, more powerful AMD chip inside. This chip will use the latest technology for processing and graphics, which means games will look and perform better.
The newest AMD computer processors (Ryzen 7000) and graphics cards (Radeon RX 7000) already use similar technology. But, the PlayStation 5 Pro might have even newer technology inside.
It might use the next generation of AMD technology, called Zen 5 for processing and RDNA 3.5 for graphics. These are expected to be used in the upcoming Radeon RX 8000 graphics cards and Ryzen 8000 processors. This means the PlayStation 5 Pro could be really powerful and good for gaming.
The PS5 Pro’s specs are:
- TSMC 5/4nm Process
- 8 Zen 4 cores
- 30 WGP
- 60 CU
- iGPU based on RDNA 3 or RDNA 3.5
- APU with 96 ROPs
- CPU clocks 3.6 GHz
- GPU clocks 2.7 GHz
- 16 GB GDDR6
- 18,000 mt/s memory
- 23.04 TFLOPs
The new gaming console is expected to have special AI technology and a powerful mixed-core system (Zen 5 and Zen 5c) for better performance. Reports suggest it’s close to being finished. Some game makers are already using early versions to make new games. This console will be over twice as powerful as the current PlayStation 5, with a speed of 23.04 TFLOPs compared to PlayStation 5’s 10.28 TFLOPs.
