Persona 4 Golden Patch 1.1 Fixes Cutscene Playback, Other Issues

Atlus has released Patch 1.1 for Persona 4 Golden on Steam, which fixes a number of issues that were plaguing the game’s PC port. The game launched for the PC in the middle of June earlier this year. Previously, this version of the game was only available on the PS Vita.

Persona 4 Golden Patch Sorts Out Animated Cutscene Stuttering

One of the biggest issues that this patch fixes is the stuttering during the game’s animated cutscenes. On lower-end hardware, these scenes would freeze and jump forward, even if the game itself was running fine. Players who were experiencing this issue can now lower the playback quality of these scenes and have them run smoothly.

Patch 1.1 Also Fixes Certain Crashing Issues

The patch also includes a number of other improvements. These include a number of crash fixes, such as those removing an Xbox One controller or other random issues. It also addresses issues related to blank items in the inventory.

“If you have a blank item in the Clothes menu, please be sure to remove it as these blank items can be still in your currently saved game data. Equipping blank items can trigger various freeze issues in other locations,” read the patch notes.

Persona 4 Golden Should Be A Smoother Experience For More Players Now

Persona 4 Golden patch 1.1 also sorts out a soft lock issue that some players were experiencing after performing an All-Out Attack. This one must’ve been extremely frustrating. The game’s combat is built on knocking down enemies during your turn and finishing them off with an All-Out Attack.

So, for the game to run into problems simply because you were trying to play it properly is annoying. Good to know that this won’t be happening anymore. Other minor issues, such as audio glitches when certain characters do certain attacks or bugged quests also seem to be sorted out.

Persona 4 Golden is a wonderful, wonderful game. I would for anyone to stop playing it because of technical issues. Hopefully, this patch will help all players have a smoother experience.
