When will Kingdom Hearts 4 be released?
To begin, Kingdom Hearts 4 does not yet have a release date. While it’s simple to hypothesize and assume about a probable launch schedule for other properties, Kingdom Hearts has never truly followed the rules.
Kingdom Hearts 3 was in production for five years prior to its release, with additional time invested in between major releases. As such, we’ll have to wait to see more of KH4 before speculating on a probable release date.
Kingdom Hearts 4 Story: Could Kingdom Hearts 4 feature realms based on Star Wars and Marvel characters?
Since the conclusion of Kingdom Hearts 3, fans have speculated about the possibility of future games featuring the Star Wars and Marvel universes. Disney now controls both properties, so everything is the fair game going forward. Indeed, others claim they have seen evidence in the trailer of a Star Wars region.
Around 30 seconds in, you can see a woodland that bears a striking resemblance to Endor. There’s even what appears to be an AT-foot ST hiding away in the backdrop. Star Wars is an obvious candidate for a new planet, though whether it will appear in Kingdom Hearts 4 remains to be seen.
Kingdom Hearts 4 Is Coming to the Following Platforms:
Square Enix has also not announced the platforms on which Kingdom Hearts 4 will be released. Previously, the majority of Kingdom Hearts titles were unavailable on several platforms (including the Nintendo Switch).
Kingdom Hearts 3 was released on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 concurrently. Previously, the Xehanort Saga titles were exclusive to PlayStation and Nintendo handheld consoles. Kingdom Hearts appears to be a series that will span multiple platforms.

Kingdom Hearts 4 will almost certainly launch on the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S first. There is a possibility that we will have to wait for the PC version, but I am optimistic. For instance, Kingdom Hearts 3 was released on PC two years after the console version.
Kingdom Hearts 4 Gameplay:
A big portion of the trailer was created to look like gameplay, but that may be difficult to believe given how wonderful it looked. At the very least, we anticipate numerous adjustments between now and the final product, but it’s safe to assume that significant changes are on the way.
As expected, Nomura has revealed that the flat in Quadratum where Sora is currently recuperating would serve as the game’s hub, at least for the first half of the game. This area is not located in Shibuya, but in a neighboring neighborhood called Minami-Aoyama.
To begin, the slow-motion movement technique introduced in Dream Drop Distance and Kingdom Hearts III returns, smoother than ever. Sora leaps flip, and slides across the city environment, even using his Keyblade as a grappling hook. Quicktime events, or even reaction commands, appear to be making a comeback.
Sora counters the big heartless’ attack by converting his Keyblade into a drill, implying that shape alterations will return, and then launches it like a missile. Unfortunately, we do not get to watch the conclusion of the fight, but the scale and spectacle appear to be unprecedented.
The UI is also visible, although it is identical to the one found in Kingdom Hearts III, leading us to believe it is a placeholder for the time being. Unfortunately, we are unable to read any of the text on the user interface, so we apologize if there is anything intriguing there.
Additionally, apart from Quadratum, the only other world visible is that wooded area. Viewers with keen eyes noticed an odd element in an image of the river that resembles the foot of an AT-AT, the Star Wars series’ mechanized marching tanks. This would be the first time the Kingdom Hearts series has crossed over with that franchise, but given its affiliation with Disney, it is entirely possible.
Again, this is pure speculation — no worlds other than Quadratum have been verified — but Sora may receive his first lightsaber Keyblade. You can determine for yourself by examining the top right corner of the above screenshot.
Is There a Connection Between ‘NEO: The World Ends With You’ and Kingdom Hearts 4?
Spoiler alert: the true ending of Kingdom Hearts 3 revealed that Sora was in an alternate version of Shibuya that appears to be identical to the setting of The World Ends With You. When you consider how characters from The World Ends With You made an appearance in Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance, the relationship between the two games is rather obvious.
Although it is unlikely that NEO: The World Ends With You would have direct ties to Kingdom Hearts, it would be wonderful if it did.
kingdom hearts 4 Trailer: What is the trailer predicting about the Next Season?
The first trailer for Kingdom Hearts 4 showcases the Quadratum, which, despite resembling Tokyo, Square Enix describes as an “expansive city built in a magnificent, realistic setting unlike anything seen previously in the Kingdom Hearts series.” Additionally, the trailer introduces fans to Strelitzia, a new character.
