Kim Kardashian Lost ’21 Pounds’: ‘Completely Changed My Lifestyle’

Kim Kardashian has no regrets about the intense weight-loss plan she followed to fit into Marilyn Monroe’s famous “Happy Birthday” dress for the 2022 Met Gala.

In an interview with Today that aired on June 21, the 41-year-old founder of Skims told hosts Hoda Kotb and Savannah Guthrie that she has “kept eating really healthy” and has lost 21 pounds. Kardashian said she doesn’t want to lose “any more weight,” but she also said that the change has helped her see things in a new way.

Kim’s Thought on Her Weight Loss

“I learned a lot about my way of life and my health from it,” she said. “After that, I kept eating really healthy food. I have lost 21 pounds. I’m not trying to lose more weight, but I’ve never had more energy. I stopped eating so much sugar and a lot of junk food. I just made a big change in how I live.”

When asked about the backlash she got after saying she lost 16 pounds to fit into the historic Bob Mackie design, Kardashian said, “I looked at it like a role, and I really wanted to wear this dress. I really cared about it.”

In a May 2 interview with Vogue, the author of Selfish talked about how she got fit. She said that she “would wear a sauna suit twice a day” and “run on the treadmill.” Kardashian stopped eating sugar and carbs and only ate the “cleanest vegetables and protein.” “I didn’t starve myself, but I was strict,” the beauty mogul said.

During her Today interview, Kardashian also spoke out about claims that she had damaged the famous dress after wearing it on May 2, which was the biggest night in fashion. “It was so complicated. I wore a robe and slippers to the red carpet and put on the dress at the bottom of the carpet before going up the stairs. “I probably wore it for three or four minutes, and then I changed at the top of the stairs,” Kardashian said.

“Kim Kardashian wearing the ‘Happy Birthday’ dress was hotly contested, but the fact remains that it in no way damaged the garment in the short time,” Ripley’s said in a statement made public on June 16. It was used at the Met Gala one time.

Amanda Carpenter, vice president of publishing and licencing at Ripley, added in the memo that “the dress was in the same condition it started in from the bottom of the steps at the Met, where Kim entered the dress, to the top where she was returned.” The Archives continued by stating that Joiner travelled with the dress on the plane from Orlando to New York for the big event and remained with it throughout the entire day of the Met Gala on May 2.
